i see, well they can always nerf it or work something around, maybe they will add 2 more races two the next expansion pack

In the lore, Necrons are suppose to be a slow moving super tough robot army that kill everything it sees. It's very hard to get them right in the game, without losing the feel. Necrons portrayed in DC is quite off, to be honest.

Also, considering the horribly imbalanced game that Necrons bring in DoW1:DC, that took Relic and Iron Lore to sort of balanced it in SS, i hope i dont see them again in multiplayer ever. They are incredibly hard to balance. And their reliance with Power only and pop increase with strategic points make it far worse, and till now, i hate playing with or against them in SS because of that. Not to forget their tiny army list, where what you see in DC, is pretty much what they have, except Pylon which is a giant anti Titan gun which is impossible to be in the game. Nercon is a very shallow race, while incredibly difficult to be in a small scale game like DoW2.

I rather see Tau in the next expansion, and thats it. Maybe a real Inquisition army with the 3 main branch. Even Dark Eldar is a better race, as Slaneshii isnt really shown in the game, other than Noise Marines.

If Necrons are actually used, perhaps it is better if they are used as some type of creep. Imagine a multiplayer map that randomly send out Necron warriors that indiscriminately attacks any players' units. That would force a temporary alliance between the opposing sides, since they are both vulnerable. And the number of Necron spawned increases each time, so the players have to complete their objective (victory point control, annihilation, etc.) as quickly as possible.

Or just have a cooperative play with players defending against thousands of Necron. Like some kind of tower defence game, but with mobile units.

Yes that's what I want to see necrons being portray in the game. Survival mode would-be awesome.

Terminators are hard to kill. Probably need a massive army to take one out.

ah ok,hmmm when u think about it there might be more kind of assassins in the Officio Assassinorum (or assassins's office in my eyes)....like close range assasins, or assassin that can disguise as one of the enemy units or many more
*
There are more kinds of assassins like Callidus, Culexus and Eversor.

http://warhammer40k.wikia.com/wiki/Officio_Assassinorum

Each of them are very deadly.

I'll probably change to IG or Chaos in Retribution, as Nids are incredibly annoying to play.

Is DoW II good? Should I buy retribution? I played Dawn of War once a long time ago and it was quite fun.

Also is DoW maps as customizable as StarCraft/Warcraft 3's maps?
*
Don't compare it to blizzard games as both are quite different. I think both are good in different ways. Blizzard games more suitable for competitive games, while dow2 is more fun to play. The 6 races are quite different from each other. Offering different style and game play.

Highly recommended for you to buy this. It's only 30USD for 6 campaigns, 6 unique races, the last stand and a good developer that listens to community a lot.

I heard Retribution is squad based, you mean it isn't RTS?
*
Just put it this way, Retribution is like Starcraft's units that spawn in a squad. Instead of one marine pop up when you buy one, in DoW2, you get 3 space marines when you buy once.

Then, you can customised the units by giving them flam thrower, missile launcher and so on. Almost every unit can be upgraded in some way.

owai, no base building in DoW2?
*
Doesnt really matter, as it's still fun to play.

Having base building doesnt automatically make a RTS fun.

Dont listen to those elitists.

My first impression after first 2 hours:

- The most important thing, since Retribution dumped GFWL ENTIRELY now. The game is so much smoother now, and playing with other people with 400 to 500 ping is extremely playable, with barely any lag. Im not talking about 1v1, i have been playing a couple of games of 3v3. Well done Relic. One more thing, Relic has released one patch for the Beta in the afternoon to fix exploits, and thats something you cant do with GFWL. +2 to Relic.
- The engine seems more optimised now, despite the engine uses less shader or post processing. Running on High to Ultra now, while only High in CR.
- Played Tyranids a lot, and they seem extremely different from CR. Gaunts dont die that fast, as Guardsman has become the unit that dies the fastest. Swarmlord is amazing, as it reinforce your army and increase their speed. It's freaking powerful too.
- There are a lot of subtle changes from CR, like no sync kills for T1 and 1.5 units to other T1 or 1.5 units, but not really noticeable as you are probably busy playing than looking for sync kills.
- Units are definitely more responsive now, after Relic patched it in CR.
- Saw a Baneblade, and wow, it's huge.
- I hate the new Nids announcer. Sounds like he has severe sore throat.
- Sound wise, the game sounds more bass heavy for explosions. Thats a good thing.
- Manticore is beautiful, especially you see it firing it's missiles.

In short, i have enjoyed playing Retribution Beta for the first 2 hours. Finally i can play a proper game without people dropping off so often and patches for exploits comes almost immediately.

Getting this on Day 1.
