Hey, i also using 5230, how do i know whether the gps is working or not ah? I installed the ovi maps then i go to my position, the bottom right corner there shows 0kb and one bar only.

do any of you guys have any idea how to create playlist through PC instead of the phone?
i've been on this for 3 days and it's driving me nuts......
i fresh format my phone and memory card.
so there goes my old playlist where all my songs are in.... i got over 1600 songs to put in playlist.. create from phone it just wont create is proper order.. it will sort all my name of the song but not by artist....
the old nokia music that comes with the phone was able to manage playlist through PC.. oddly only possible through bluetooth but not usb =.=
now that nokia music is update to ovi music.. ovi music wont detect phone through bluetooth and MTP driver would not install coz in MTP mode the phone keep connect and disconnect.
try edit m3u playlist through notepad. put in the phone and fail fail to open....
the last ovi suite can't create playlist but detect my phone and music in my phone through bluetooth. syncing my playlist would only make the phone transfer the song 1 by 1 through bluetooth to my phone but still wont create or able manage any playlist.
i do till i wan pengsan ady.... if anybody got any other methods pls let me know.
i so so miss my old sony ericsson where playlist can be create and songs can be pick by folder and NOT BY THE PHONE MUSIC PLAYER BY ARTIST AND SORT. the marking system in nokia i still rubbish.... when will they change it =.= the ovi suite and the computer application also rubbish.... nice eye candy but rubbish to use....
finally there is a music player that out throne the sony walkman players sonic stage software as one of the most rubbish music player and syncing software out there

Something terrible happen to my tube just now!!
After I sent a sms to my friend, i press the Red button to exit. Then the screen suddenly pop out colored vertical and horizontal lines. It is just like the sign of the dying GPU! After few seconds it auto restarted my phone! What happened?

Added on February 2, 2010, 7:32 pmi think i know what the i8910 Omnia HD gps chip... from the physical layout it seem it's the Atheros AR1511F gps chip... function wise more sensitive/accurate then nokia TI navilink 5.0...
the AR1511F performance is about the same level as the sirf Star III gps chip (but less accurate)...

You mean the micro-sd card? The card is still fine now, I'm able to access the content. How come the memory card can cause the phone to reboot?

Just now I google the 5800 screen problems and found out many 5800s having fuzzy screen under low temperature

because ur phone try to access those corrupted area and it will stuck....
the screen will simply shrink become a rainbow strip the reboot when the phone is crash...

bingo..i faced this problem many times but only happen to me during wallpaper / themes change area..found out is corrupted themes / wallpaper causing it..so after removing the corrupted file, problem solved.

LOL, if got iphone also not bad. Atm 5800 is good enough for me, iphone is just freaking expensive and can't multitask

I never use OVI maps yet, but I think the 0kb is how much ovi map download map?

To check if the gps working or not, Application > Location > GPS Data > Position.
Select Option > Satellite status; to see Signal strength. Usually minimum 3 satellite are needed to lock the position.
Btw, do this outdoor.

There 3 methods how your handphone to get position;
1. A-GPS/ Assisted GPS - when seeking location will charge you gprs/network connection and you can get lock faster. (If you use postpaid with unlimited network so better turn this on.)
2. Integrated GPS - free but a slower to get lock, sometimes takes 5-15 minutes.
3. Network based - charge a small amount but so slow, it is wise to turn this off.

- Bluetooh GPS - is a piece of GPS you have to buy and connected to you Handphone via bluetooth.

There is option to turn enable which Position method to use, Application > Location > Positoning > Positioning methods.

Because I'm using prepaid I only turn on Integrated GPS. It is slower but free.

i install the ovi map last week...i manage to lock on to the gps but i cant see the map even i have fully lock in to it...do i hav to wait longer for the 1st time or i have done mistake on installing the map...i already replace the old CITIES wit the 1 provided by XM...

dun noe how u use tat, but y dun u use the map loader by nokia?

this indicate u dont have the proper maps data install in your e:\cities , try to load in the maps data using the nokia maps loader will do...
of coz if u dont want that way u can just let the ovi maps download the maps data for u through ur internet connection but make sure u are using wifi...
