i think he meant for using password to unlock the screen after he locks it..i tried using using ur method but it is just for autolock..no password whatsoever..i just can unlock the screen using the slide button..maybe u need to use 3rd party application..

One method you can try (troublesome though):
1) send all contacts from SE to PC via Bluetooth as business cards (VCF format)
2) import all VCF from PC to Nokia phone via Bluetooth

Its better for you to make a fully backup of your software etc etc . As you upgrade the firmware ,some software might be re-install .The term re-install here refers to installing to sis file again . There's still a chance of some software missing .

thanks for the feedback. last time i copy my contacts from my old SE phone to the new SE phone. It was like a file with dunno what extension already. when i copy the file all my contacts automatically brought forward.

im still new with this tube. i dunno where to find that file.

anyhow worst to worst i will do it manually like ur advise. takes time though. anyone got better idea?

btw do u guys try the HSDPA yet? seems like i cant access it. or i have no idea how to use it. my old SE phone when i plug into my laptop i just dial it and can access internet. for this tube, i plug in, and cannot dial through.

u know why i worry , because the main reason is , after i done the upgrade right ,

i scare my garmin cant work anymore , so that means i have to take my tube to the place where i buy to ask them *ahem* the garmin for me lor .

for the fonts download i think u can try search through the web... for our 5800xm all "truetype fonts" are supported (correct me if i'm wrong)

haha ..fully understand bro . Here's another tips for you . From my experience , i just update the firmware to v40 and the garmin is messed up , Need to reinstall .Still after reinstall,you need to remove some file as teached by some forummer here . If not ,your setting will run and you need to replcace the garmin file inside..kinda annoying..

hey guys, i'm using 5230 but since this thread quite active and also 5230 almost the same with 5800, i thought it would be better to ask here.

I just bought my phone and recently the autorotate like abit slow liao, now its like it will fade out slowly then fade in again. Anyone knows whats the cause and how to fix it?

nothing so special about the garmin backup lah... 2 things need to do first:

1. Copy the WHOLE GARMIN FOLDER from your phone and backup into the PC
2. Copy the Garmin .sis installer file to the PC as well, this sis normally reside at the E: root folder.

The way to restore back the garmin:

1. Copy the .sis back into E: and then install it
2. Copy the whole GARMIN FOLDER from pc to the phone and OVERWRITE it... gao dim liao

I disabled liao wor, and also closed contacts bar and shortcut bar.

Edit: whoops, I just realised i did not switch off theme effect. TQ TQ

it sure seems easy but i encounter a problem after that .The setting keep on resetting ..it even changed to Chinese as mine is Taiwan .I just removed one of the file and setting is okie after that . NIce advice there .Thanks for the tips .

any1 tried the bejeweled game on the FP? it doesn't work for me.

5230 user? hey... wanna ask u... this phone can't do video calls, right?

It has 3g but no front camera. I nvr tried video calling yet. Duno whether it will utilise the main camera anot.
