QUOTE(Banzai_san @ Jan 24 2010, 12:12 PM) e-jump, what do you do actually? (ie job) your model always dressed up in anime costume. Its different from other photogs who shoot "ordinary" models You are different glad you guys like the shots. Im just a normal cosplay photog by weekends (my job has nothing related to photography) I'm a fan of cosplay/anime-convention goer since 2005, only in 2008 i upgrade from pns to a300 and since then im learning. |

@Kul | Mo0 : yep, you got the right girl
@cjlai >try 85mm f1.4 n the bokeh sh b creamy smooth OH U :3 I was just wondering why is the bokeh of 55-200 looks like linear lines here and there. could it be because i use PL-filter, or its the lens characteristics? btw, another one ![]() SAL 55-200F4-5.6 DT http://www.flickr.com/photos/e-jump/430058.../in/photostream this one ada PP |

ok, heres the better example of linear bokeh thingie i mentioned ![]() http://www.flickr.com/photos/e-jump/4300547000/sizes/l/ you can see the linear bokeh lines behind her (made it looks like i moved the camera while taking shot) is it because if the characteristic of SAL 55-200F4-5.6, or because of linear PL-filter i use? |

QUOTE(albnok @ Jan 25 2010, 12:30 AM) e-jump: You don't need a polarizer filter for that! Thanks for the complement And yes, the 55-200mm is so-so with bokeh. Your PL might be making it worse though. That said, I like the picture of the dude in blue - the colors are very striking while still controlled. Noted. Was thinking to get blueish sky (and totally forgot to remove it for non-sky shots Btw, dude is a girl (but yeah, she's cosplaying male character) @Braynumb: yep. pretty girl. hope i can work with her next time around |

Hay guys
as we know, sending ur alpha to service checkup may take some time (weeks) how do you live without the body for weeks (ie when some ovent comes up, you have no body)? do you guys happen to know that some place where we can rent an alpha for a day or two? getting a 2nd body is last option in my list, where 2nd last is skip the event and pretend it didnt happen |

QUOTE(Banzai_san @ Jan 31 2010, 09:54 AM) e-jump, how much did you buy your Siggy 28f1.8 ? Hikfthoo, how much did you buy your SAL DT30f2.8 ? I'll be buying the 1680CZ next week (god willing) in KL, and am wondering if getting one of the above prime would be of any benefit to my photography... except for the bigger aperture (ie f/1.8 & f/2.8) over the CZ, and also the macro & min focusing distance, Im not sure if they would give me great service over the CZ as walkaround lens I got mine for rm1.48k local set. The grey set is cheaper, but not available for sony (too scarce for a mount, but abundant for canons =__=") Local set is fine too since im no expert in photography and my 18-70 kitlens on loan, maybe i can do tammy 17-50F2.8 vs siggy 28F1.8 at same range. or just kasi albnok test & do review |

QUOTE(Banzai_san @ Jan 31 2010, 01:36 PM) waah Kul bro on spending spree maybe because the siggy is few F-stop faster. There's huge price difference between your siggy 28f1.8 and kfthoo's SAL DT30f2.8 ... I assume the sigma 28f1.8 is sharp and much much better? does anyone here has a siggy 30F1.4? i have a friend who loan from his friend a 30F1.4, but cant get it to test anytime soon. Maybe next time when i meet him. *uploading some shots for siggy vs tammy. brb |

QUOTE(lwliam @ Jan 31 2010, 06:08 PM) should do a 100% crop at centre and corner to make a proper comparison, with such a small image, its hard to compare the edges between the 2. actually those small pics were linked to bigger reso (direct LR2 raw->jpg)anyway, from the results, tamron wins in sharpness worries me so i did focus-chart test. here's what i've got ![]() @albnok: sounds like a plan. in b4 85F1.4 follows |
