It's always going to be hard with our 3 key attacking players out but like I've posted at half-time, there is enough quality to win. About last night, the distribution of the ball was poor. Can anybody remember any time the defenders running with the ball? Or passing to midfielders? Few. It was either long balls, hoofs, headers or back passes to Reina. It seems our players are afraid of the ball. The funny thing is we seem to heading towards the pass and move direction. Lucas especially, last night was winning balls high up the pitch and then bombing forward. The 1-2 with Degen was brilliant and should have earned a penalty. And we have players like Maxi, Aqua, Benayoun and Pacheco who are all pass and move players. I insist that last night, despite having that many defenders, there is enough fire power to be threatening to Stoke.

As for team selection, I can understand why Rodriguez, Aquilani and Riera were benched. It was a very physical and fast-paced match and Maxi & Riera hasn't settled yet. Do you guys think Babel is really on his way out?

And then, our defense. Don't want to repeat myself, nuff said.

We don't have choice. First players like Torrers and Gerrard injured. Then last season players like Alonso no more in the team. Problem is we don't have back up players in order to play a winning tactics. Yes we have many players, but these players were not welly exposed to games. Is just like like asking them do something which they not familar. Of course the game is competative not like in training ground, everything can be predict. So this is how we ends now. Blame the manager never really mould up a backup squad. These are the players were choose to bought by Rafa. So how you want to judge by this? Super cheap players? Losing and struggle with low division team is our big big problem. Clean sheet as long we able to score more goals than what we conceed then is win. We are bad in defence and attack, so how to win? Cannot scroe goals? Better play for draw, so 8 defensive players onl yesterday game. Very safe game to play.

Manager should be the one shoulder all the blame, because he is the one responsible to choose, to buy, to train, and how the team plays. Rafa is not a new manager in Liverpool anymore, the result of having which players, who being bought or sold is down to manager responsibility. Yes, Liverpool doesn't have large amount of money that can be spent to buy top players, at least play some decent footballl, also can.
It is a total Rafa team now.

Bare in mind, Liverpool purchase are not super cheap one as well, it might not top class, but a team that spent 20 mil (Aqualani), 18.5 million on Johnson (which total spending of 40 million) is something ordinary club is not affordable one.

Cannot score goal, play for draw as Liverpool team against Stoke(which is classified as big 4)?
This is not a right mentality. It is suicide tactic, tell opponent, hey we cannot score one.

Then what about against Chelsea, Arsenal or MU time, play for to lose 0-1, considered as "success"?

If one aims to not win, then one never will win. See why there is giant killing in FA cup, because the lower league team has the right mentality to win and fight for it and believe even technically they might be not good in term of skill. At least supporter feell every cent worth by seeing the team play like this even loss the match one.

Cannot score, then try how to score or play differently or search the formula to score goal!
Liverpool is not that bad until reaching the state cannot win against Stoke and resort to ultra-defensive to seach for a point.

We are not talking about winning the league or playing free-flowing football like Arsenal, Chelsea or MU. We are talking can't even play decent football against Stoke, against Reading!

Bare in mind, all the team players are professional footballer, they are not considered newbie in football, when you are professional, when team needed you, you need at least carry out the task. I don't like the excuse some players are not exposed to game. If keep on with this reason, then they never will expose to the game. Just like Aqualani case, keep on saying not match fit so cannot play, if not playing him, how can he gain the match fitness.

Again bollocks. Although i have little love nor pity for rafa, I have even less for those who gleefully jump on the bandwagon and start blaming the cold weather on the stubborn spanish bugger.

Late last season we were all clamoring for an attacking right fullback. We got one.
Then Alonso finally showed Rafa the middle finger and left, and we had to find a replacement....

athough to say that Aqualani's not a flop at the moment is akin to saying that Kewell was no flop either - he just wasn't fit often enough whistling.gif

Yeap is true. The whole team is Rafa team. He can't blame no players or not enough money to spend (against big 4 or low division). I would see if he did say not enough to spend for reason losing to Reading or drawing witht Stoke.
If we were in the 1st div along newcastle, I don't think also able to top the division, if the way we play like this.
Last season we are saying we are fighting neck to neck with MU, Chelsea. Now we can't even smell the smole. Putting exmplae like MU, they did sold CR and Tevez, 2 big important players. But they did playing good game week in and out.

Andriy Voronin, Ryan Babel and Andrea Dossena were sold right ?
That should provide us some money to buy players like Ruud van Nistelrooy & Palermo's Simon Kjaer hmm.gif

As far as I am concerned, NO ONE leaves and NO ONE joins (permanently, loan guys don't count as we can always return them) until the Rafa situation is resolved.
A player like Babel has shown that he does indeed have what it takes, and a new manager might be able to get the best out of him. Rafa clearly can't.
And seeing that we are piss broke at the moment, let's save whatever money we have in the (if we get one) new manager to finetune Rafa's squad. We DON'T want another Cisse fiasco, no?

He couldn't even get a game at West Ham before he joined us, so give the spanish bugger some credit.

I'm like an ogre, living alone in my swamp, calling for Rafa's head with a few like minded doubters... like since two seasons ago... and suddenly i wake up and notice that there's one thousand and one campers erecting 'rent-a-tents' around me so forgive me for being sceptical and nasty laugh.gif
