like king kenny, pep got a solid team with alot of gifted players when he take over. he indeed however managed to get the best out of them. not that i'm giving him (or king kenny) any credit but given him a team of under performer like current liverpool squad i'm sure he'd struggle too.

i'll rate pep higher when he (let say.. guide atletico madrid) to league champ. with barca current talent it's like cheating already
nway, save the manager replacement debate when rafa actually got fired or at season end. but now.. only flame rafa, players and owners.. hehe |

Duke, thanks for the Shankly stories. Always smile whenever I read em no matter how many times I've read em before.
Valencia was already a strong team that won EUFA and went to CL final two times in a row when Rafa took in charge. Rafa work with Hector Cuper players and tactics. He peaked early then slumped just like his career in Liverpool. I personally would like to see Rafa enjoy when the team scored.. not OTT like O Neil but at least clap hands or put his hands in the air. A pat in the back once in a while also doesn't hurt and only boost the player's morale. Babel situation was an ugly one where I think both Rafa and him at fault. |

very convincing game. 1st in many games that i watched the players play with heart. spurs got nothing against us.. except for the disallowed goal and few other chances saved by reina. the game should be buried and decided if not because of unlucky finishes.
finally, a man that can replace hyppia aerial ability. krygiakos was immense on the air and he kept defoe in his pocket. carra as usual.. good game. riera coming back inject the attacking flair and crosses that we needed. aqualani are beginning to keep up with the english tempo. ang ngog introduction was right. here's hoping this will finally be the real turning point. |

QUOTE(RedSiglap56 @ Jan 21 2010, 03:26 PM) Just one win doesn't change everything. It's a nice win and 3 important points .. and that's it! It doesn't vindicate Benitez one bit. Honestly, didn't you shudder when he made his substitutions? : give it a break will ya? - Ngog for Aquilani : won't that unbalance the midfield?! - Maxi for Riera : alright, it's exciting to see Maxi but he won't be able to contribute so quickly (he's getting on too) and Riera was somewhat threatening on the left and he was beginning to shoot after he was told! - Darby for Degen : yes, Degen is limited but removing a more experienced player at that late stage and putting a young chap out against a Spurs attack that was throwing everything forward?! I think we caught Spurs on a day when their strikers and attacking midfielders forgot to put on their right boots! Yes, it was a very welcome win ... but let's not get carried away! I for one think the subs were spot on. Ngog > Aqua - Lucas and Msch at the centre. doesn't it seems like 4-4-2? Aqua, like Degen looks obviously pancit and not that focus anymore. Maxi > Riera - in case you havent notice Riera just come back from injury and not really fit. Sammy/Rafa Rafa ask him couple of time if he can still go on a few time on later 2nd half. Darby > Degen - it was time wasting subs. and degen always lost when he going forward and Carra can be heard shouting his name to get him inline. Spurs not the their best day.. but don't take anything away from Liverpool players. They were in control the whole game. Spurs at best also would struggle in the game. They end up playing long ball to Crouch just to get through the midfield. Desperately lame tactics. |

to be fair the source you gave is a bit dodgy. unless it's from credible/reliable source then it can be taken seriously. |

didnt watch the full game because i fell asleep midway.. pure shite.
team lineup looks like trying to settle for a point rather than attack to win. team vs spurs lineup far more balanced than last night. what an opportunity to claim the 4th. shiiit gerrard shouldnt take anymore set pieces!!! rafa need to told him that.. but probably he got no balls because he's afraid gerrard will sulk and moan like he usually does these days. if he does care for the club he should voluntarily given up his captaincy to carra. |

krygiakos indeed control the air since the stoke game. if he a tad younger. he might be a good long term CB for liverpool

QUOTE(Everdying @ Feb 2 2010, 12:22 AM) lucas is not improving. be fair... he been decent when playing DM. obviously crap when asked to play AM because its not his position. IMHO he played better when gerrard not around.everyone else playing like crap thats why he looks better btw, i know its good to be pessimistic as a LFC fan...but do u realise that we are now 6 games unbeaten in the league with 4w and 2d? |

QUOTE(Everdying @ Feb 2 2010, 02:07 AM) I'm pretty sure he's been played as AM in front masch where gerrard support torres on attack.i admit i'm one of those ppl who frustrated when he's playing as AM but he filled masch job pretty well when masch absent from suspension. he paired nicely with aqua. i do however agrees that he tend to keep the ball too long and resorted to back pass. if he can change the habit he'll be a better player. QUOTE(digilife @ Feb 2 2010, 07:24 AM) ONE THING FOR SURE you should replace "lucas" with "gerrard" is more correct. our captain been shite all season.we played better without Lucas on the starting 11 , it was also similiar when Voronin was in the starting 11 |

QUOTE(digilife @ Feb 2 2010, 10:04 PM) could it be tat rafa pushed him out as rafa wan to built an "all his men" team hyppia decided he still have a few more years of playing actively so rejected the player + coach role. stop spewing nonsense that rafa didnt want him.damn it, it makes me sick to think of selling Sinama Pongolle, and Risse sinama is a bright prospect as babel when ged bought him. but he really did struggle to adapt in the league. on risse, not sure you notice or not but he offers absolutely nothing on attacking and defending on the last few seasons with liverpool. he's been living off with THAT goal for far too long. while i'll remember both of their contributions, sinama notably olympiakos '05 and risse thunderbolt. i strongly feel that it was the right decisions to let them go. they done great after leaving the team just like a lot players from other club (forlan for example) but it cant be helped because the manager felt that they no longer fit in his systems. that kewell part.. how funny. isn't kewell spent most of his time recovering with doctors from australia. i remember rafa angry because kewell decide to go back to OZ for medical instead of stayed with the club doctors. on top of that he already cacat at Leeds. though the story that goes around saying it was houllier method of training preventing him from full recovery. i dont know..

QUOTE(CrossFirE @ Feb 4 2010, 01:12 PM) so he is Hyypia type of defender which is great in aerial? i wonder if he and hyypia play together, what will happen. lolz.. Aerial monsters? but slow in pace. they lack pace but they make up for it by (at least Hyppia) reading the game better than anyone else in the game.insua really need to shape up his body and stamina to cover for his slowness |

whats with the ngog bashing? he did ok as lone front man. torres also would struggle in that physical team. peenar get whats he deserved from gerrard. and afro shite damn dirty when kicking kuyt on the face. that was intentional no matter how andy bluenose gray try to deny it.
the greek should not tackle like dat and red card cant be avoided. saying that.. the afro shite also should be red carded This post has been edited by rushmode: Feb 8 2010, 08:16 PM |
