For navigation, I am using the hacked GMap.I also got the navigation voice, I think. smile.gif

Warranty... at least I don't have to pay full amount if I want to repair it.

Added on January 29, 2010, 6:42 pm dreamwar You may not find the N1 in Low Yat Plaza, but yoy can easily find it in lowyet.net smile.gif

QUOTE(ccm @ Jan 29 2010, 07:21 PM)
bahathir, may i know how to get the hacked one ah ??

then.. has anyone tried to charge your n1 by other brand charger? or other usb cable?

today i charged by a cheap usb cable and my nexus one menu all the texts bcome crazy text.. the location of where the text should be all run off already..
*
Oo.. Now I am using the charger which comes with the N1 (1000mA) . Previously, I am using Nokia E52's wall charger, (rating 1200mA). I have no problem with both charger.Beside using charger, I also regularly connect N1 to my laptop with Noka USB-microUSB or the one which comes with the N1. In any cases, I don't have any problem.

Try restarting your N1, and see if the problem still occurred.

TQ..

Yes, I also think that all micoUSB chargers are compatible... but,the N1 is NOT compatible with FAULTY chargers or cables smile.gif

Added on January 31, 2010, 7:35 pmSite notes:
Tried to transfer songs from my Laptop to N1 via several methods
Transfer speed.
Bluetooth : 100 kByte/s
WiFi using FTPserver app. : 600 kByte/s.
USB mass storage mode : 2MByte/s

Oppps... the N1 just self-rebooted smile.gif... I don't know why, I am just happy... smile.gif he heh he he. The time to 'root' my N1 is VERY VERY near.... smile.gif..

shahz : Look carefully at the unit...

With wifi, i got 600 kByte/s which is about 5 Mbit/s (Mbps) smile.gif and also with FTPServer...

Or, it took 5 seconds to transfer 3 MB file.

I think it is 'Possible' to insall WinMo in N1, if the WinMo has all the needed drivers.

Yup,the same feeling from my friends too. Here is my assumptions.

Touch screen resolution: N1:atleast 800x480 vs iPhone 480x320
N1 has to process 2.5 more pixels than iphones

But, I already get used to it, so not a big issues.

Side notes:
This is how the Snapdragon CPU changes it's CPU speed. In my test shows the live wallpaper will escalate the CPU frequency to the Max, (1Ghz) most of the time especially the "Water' live wallpaper. But the good news is, the cpu freq will be lowered to 245MHz when it is in standby. smile.gif The Nexus live wallpaper is not bad at all. The cpu speed stays 245 MHz, unless we touch it many times. smile.gif But, I prefers solid black static wallpaper.

$ cat /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu0/cpufreq/stats/trans_table

I am not sure whether the drastic CPU freq changes contribute to the clunkiness, which I found not too serious.

I also did tests with the touchscreen accuracy, and response. I am using 'Simply Draw' apps (muti touch simple drawing apps), Google;s SDK dev;s Pointer Locations app, and Multi touch test apps, and I am quite satisfied with it.

There many few factors which might affecting the touch accuracy
1) Finger : Yeah... our fingers need to be clean and not greasy.
2) Screen : Same as above smile.gif I found that the screen is a bit 'sticky' clean, so, sometime, it is not as smooth as silk. Might be a matte screen protector can give much silky smooth touch.

Added on February 1, 2010, 12:56 amAlso, make sure your palm did not touch the edge of the screen. It might cause errors in registering touches.

In Android, 'ROM' is just a software which being flashed into the device's ROM.

Currently, I am using Azilink (apps from Market), which can do the USB tethering. The process is not straight forward, but, still fun to do it. smile.gif

Speaker : Mmm.... it just OK. Better than my Nokia E52.

getting mine soon... worried abt the loudness of the speaker and the virtual keyboard sensitivity... used my my qwerty kb previously... sweat.gif

can anyone here do some convincing?? tongue.gif

Read all the posts in this thread laa smile.gif... You may found the answer. smile.gif
Keyboard : Sensitive. Practices make perfect smile.gif

Speaker : No comment. It is loud enough to woke me up in the morning. I use 'Rooster Alarm' sound. Really annoying. smile.gif. IMHO, the sound is being optimized for VOICE. So do not expect Hi-Fi grade speaker. One thing for sure, it is much more louder than my Nokia E52.

I think for the MMS APN, set the APN Type as mms

Example
APN Type : mms

This is what APN type used for smile.gif...

Good Luck.

Added on February 2, 2010, 12:07 pmFor the bottom's virtual buttons, actually it is a bit off to the top. In my case, I do a 'mini swipe' (bottom to up) .

ah ok, i think the mms size is the main issue here, thanks for the info bahathir! smile.gif

let me see how i can set it.
*
MMS size ? Nope, N1/Android will resize it to certain size before it can be send out as the MMS. Example, a 5MP picture with 1.2 MB filesize will be resize it automatically to around 200 kB.

For others who want to 'root' the N1.... Good Luck !!! smile.gif.. I'll joint the 'root' club AFTER google/HTC release the patch.

Added on February 2, 2010, 3:39 pmNow, waiting for my screen protector(s) and epikcase from AskarPerang. The price is very reasonable.

I know the screen is scratch resistance. But to my fingers, it is a bit sticky and not qiite silky smooth. I hope the screen protector able to provide better gliding performance.

Yeah, sure, I'll post the screen protector's impression here. smile.gif...

FYI: I have skin which is a 'sticky' type. Believe or not,a frying pan, spoon, my gadgets with flat surface, ... can 'STICK' to my chest or my back smile.gif like magnet. Now you can understand why I need smoother screen surface. I thought I want to take a picture of N1 sticking to my body smile.gif and post it to Internet... .but.... malu laaa.. smile.gif

I like the matte surface of my friends' iPhone. but, yeah, the display is a bit fussy.

BTW, N1 screen also not bad, and I fount it is quite fingerprint resistant, and it is seem to be clear and clean at most of the time smile.gif

1) I don't want my N1 smelled like KFC smile.gif
2) Dont' want my N1 to be infected by A(H1N1) he heh eh he but I gladly to be infected by N1
