shahz already mentioned to submit any N1's problems...smile.gif Yeah la.. to be fair, we already enjoy and love our N1, but, how about the others who are facing problems smile.gif

http://www.youtube.com/results?search_quer...arch_type=&aq=f

One more problem which I discovered lately.
There is no "Regulatory Domain" option in Wi-Fi advanced settings. I need it because, I want to use channel 12. The default N1 only can use up to channel 11 because of US regulation. The Regulatory Domain options can make the N1 able to use up to channel 14. This option is exist in ERD79, and missin in ERE27 (update1)

Anyone can confirm it to me please smile.gif.

Thank you.

Here is my first impression about the epik's products, which I also cross posted in askarperang's bulk order threads. smile.gif
http://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?act=ST&f...0#entry31824890

####
I got the epikcase and SPs an hour ago.

Epikcase Resin Frosted series. Grey:
1) The grey color really match the N1 color.
2) This case has combination of 2 colour, frosted grey and tranparent/clear grey.
3) The clear grey matched the metal part of the N1
4) This also make my engraving to be visible.
5) Aha, I pull out the Nexus One wording. It is just a rubber/resin sticker glued to case.
6) By removing the wording, the htc wording on the N1's back, can be seen.
7) The case fit tightly to the N1 and feel solid
8) The best thing about the case, is, it prevent my palm from being touched to the edge of touch screen. This minimized the touch registering errors. So I use my N1 with one hand comfortably.
9) The back site of the case has similar feeling/texture as the N1's back, but, more grippier, which enhance the confident when holding it..
10) All the ports are precisely aligned and accessible.
11) The case make the N1 a bit thicker and it is hard to put it in the original pouch. So, this is the only negative thing about the case, if you still wan to use the pouch.

Ultra clear screen protector.
1) N1 touchscreen is scratch resistance, and no screen protector is needed.
2) But, it feels tacky/sticky when my fingers are moistured and clean. Similar feeling when you touch a very clean glass/window.
3) The clear screen protector able to give much better glide motion to my fingers.
4) I am not good in putting the SP to the screen, and at the end, there are several small dust trapped, but, managed to get rid most of it.
5) THis just clear SP, and it is CLEAR, like no SP being attached to the screen.
6) It provides better gliding action, and I'll use it for a while.

Matte SP.
1) Ok, actually, I put this one first. smile.gif
2) Yeah, the image is a biit fussy, with acceptable image sharpness and color contrast
3) The matte is best for gliding action. Very smooth.
4) Less glare and almos no finger print can be found.
5) I keep it as a spare.

IMHO, the price which I think very reasonable, the products are very good. High cost performance. Recommended, because, it is difficult to find SP and cases for N1 in lowyat plaza.

Thank to askarperang for his superb services. smile.gif
(p/s : next time you can give me better discounts, ??? OK ? smile.gif )

Thank you.

QUOTE(ccm @ Feb 11 2010, 11:46 AM)
Can I know what is the average Internet connection speed you guys have for your N1? not wifi, is from yr ISP..

then can I know if u r under HSDPA covered your logo will still 3G or 3.5G or H ??
I upgraded mine to celcom 3.6mbps...
but I never have speed more than 1.0mbps..always 11x~16x..sometimes even worse at 60kbps only.. the fastest i get is 600kbps..
*
Remember, not all places in Cecom3G support up to 3.6Mbps. The fastest ever I had is about 3Mbps in Penang and KLCC with my other phones few years ago smile.gif. The fastest I got with N1 is 2Mbps near MidValley. Other places are around 250kBs-1.2Mbps. Even during my commuting in KTM Komuter, I can get up to 1Mbps smile.gif but most of the time is just about 60kbps-250kbps. smile.gif But my friend said, he got the 3.6Mpbs in Kelantan smile.gif

Also, the speed depends on the network load too.

TQ.

Goto contact -> select contact -> edit contact -> change phone number type to Mobile

SMS/Messaging will select any contact numbers which labeled/typed as Mobile.

The problem is, if I have hundreds or thousands of numbers smile.gif

TQ

Yes, I also 'stuck' at Downloading App, but, it will successfully downloaded eventually.

Touchscreen: I already tried the SDK's Dev Tool app's Pointer's Location, and yes, I got similar result to the video. But, in normal use, I don't have any problem at all. So, it doesn't mean what the app shows to you is always true. Do read the comments in the video page too.

I also tried another app called Multitouch Visualizer (from Market), and this apps shows more accurate presentation of N1's multitouch, IMO.

redzanime : Wait for update2 smile.gif

shahada : You can get fastboot for GNU/Linux from superboot.zip.

But, I compiled my own adb and fastboot from source-code (git repository), and created my own native 64 bit executalbe files,

TQ.

Shah, is it recommended to try it? I'm still having connection problem with a customer N1, i'm probably will get back the phone and try some possible troubleshooting. factory reset seems not to solve it. I'm thinking of trying the new unofficial rom.
*
You need to unlock the bootloader before you can root it. By unlocking the bootloader, you will VOID the warranty. That's why I stick to stock/unrooted N1 for a while until Google/HTC have some progress.

Ok, do describe the connection problem with the phone.

TQ.

Added on February 16, 2010, 2:37 pmTo kill running processes try this...

1) Home -> Menu - Settings -> Applications -> Manage Application.
2) Menu -> Filter -> Select All
3) Find the app, and try the Force Stop.

Added on February 16, 2010, 2:40 pmTeardown : I already saw it just few days after the N1 being launced. It using Samsung AMOLED display. Wonder if I can exchange the N1's with Samsung's Super AMOLED in Samsung Wave (S8500). smile.gif

After watching some of the nexus one video..makes me think..why do i bother to get the epik case n screen protector? Good ppl at google n htc spent hours designing this and i just turn it into shit..lol
*
The case does help preventing my palm from accidentally touching the edge of the touch panel. This minimize the touh register errors during operation with one hand

BTW, not need to rush... Wait some more la... before rooting the N1. smile.gif he heh he .. I have no rush at all to change firmwares/ROMs/softwares, but, still I do really tempted to root it.. I think I'll wait until Froyo's version, (ERFxxx), which supposed to have latest 2.6.32 kernel.

IF, I want to root my N1, I only thinking to change the kernel. and leave others as what there are right now.

TQ

Yes, the main purpose to use Android is the 'hackability'. smile.gif. There are better smartphones out there, but the hackability is how we can make ourself being more satisfy with our Android or N1. Yes, I want to make my own 'phone' with my own preferable features, and Android/N1. My phone, my own phone, and it's unique as me.

BTW, one day, I'll root my N1 also....

Yes... I already mentioned that, I only interst in kernel hacking. smile.gif the android software are more than what I need. smile.gif I heard that in few months, the next android release, the Froyo will implement kernel 2.6.32. So, to those who don't want to root/unlock bootloader... just wait for it... (like me) smile.gif

Those kernel hacking make the device runs much cooler and efficient. This also mean better battery life.

iPhone also not a bad platform, if you like to install lot's of sw in your iphone. Also, there are many HW for iphones. To me, iphone is more like 'Phone' or applliance.where we need to buy to get it what we want.

In contrast, Android is an open platform. You can compile your own apps, modules and kernel to make thing better. You can tweak as much as you want, but, you need to learn howto do it first. Yeah, learning new thing is quite difficult for some peoples.. and for those peoples, iPhone is a better solution for them.

Thank you.

Added on February 19, 2010, 12:48 pmYesterday, I 'irc chat' with Paul@modaco, and he said, the FM radio can be sucessfully implemented in N1, IF, he got the Desire in his hand.

So, just the Desire firmware image is not sufficient to port the FM radio to N1.

TQ. smile.gif

In, computer system, kernel is the MOST bug free software. It is the infrastructure for whole system, and it MUST be very robust. Yes, there are bugs, but not as annoying as app's bugs.

Yes, you can get the kernel source, change the parameters/values, compile it and load/flash it to your device. So, it is up to you, how deep you want to explore the Android.

Oya, I already tried the Desire's HTC_IME or HTC sense virtual keyboard, by installing HTC_IME.apk, which can be done on stock N1, without rooting/unlocking. Mmmm...several features are not working, but basically, it looks nice, with several layouts. But, the standard keyboard is still not bad either.

Happy hacking. !! smile.gif

The reason modaco did not realease the Desire's ROM was, he want to make sure all the 'watermark's being removed. The purpose of the watermark is to enable HTC identify the developer who develop the ROM. So, if the ROM is leaked, then HTC can pinpoint the 'traitor' smile.gif

Anyway, Adobe already said that they proivide the Flash 10.1 to Android. Sooner or later, we, the unrooted/locked N1's user, still can get the Flash too. As I mentioned earlier.. no rush. smile.gif

Added on February 20, 2010, 11:50 amBTW, the Desire ROM is still in Alpha mode... so, not sure it works perfectly for you smile.gif
