My N1's standby is more than 12 hours. 6 hours standby just use 10%, with WiFi turned ON.
Now. IMHO, the cause of the high power consumption are due to 1) Low or very low telco's signal strength. Any phones also suffers this problem. 2) Background apps. Several apps uses quite some power even in standby mode 3) They leave the screen ON during the standby... Carefull OLED also have 'burnt' problem, similar to old CRT TV/monitor. So make sure the standby/or screen blank is ON. Remeber, the N1 is Internet connected smartphone. Even my friends also recharge their iPhones 3Gs EVERYDAY> Others ? QUOTE(shahz @ Jan 18 2010, 10:19 PM) Lol..let me give you guys some heads up on facebook for Nexus One..I'm a moderate user and have lots of contacts.. Yeah. iSync screwed up my nokia n73 contact list when i synced it with my gmail account. it merges my phonebook and contact list and even renamed some of it. it turned out that it removed most of the first name. now my phonebook is full of lim and lee and sim and chai and stuff. (chinese surnames)The Nexus One has one of the most dynamic ways of handling contacts. This is what you can do: 1. Add your google mail account to your Nexus One 2. Add your facebook account to your Nexus One What the Nexus One will do roughly less than a few seconds is, it will download ALL your contacts to your Nexus One..What it does, it downloads the facebook profile pic of your friend as the contact's picture. Now, what you guys must be thinking "I don't want ALL my contacts. My Google is messed with weird emails etc". You don't have to worry about that. There is one checkbox in the contacts which after ticking it, only contacts with phone numbers will be displayed (as in my case, my gmail contacts were now "hidden" and my facebook accounts were listed for those who had included their phone number on their facbeook profiles). Now, what about the others who didnt insert their phone numbers in thir facebook profile, but you have their profile? No problem..Just create a new contact with the same person's facebook name, and add the phone number to it..Once you hit save, you will realize it did NOT make a new contact. Why? Because it combined with the facebook profile automatically. The person who was not visibile just now, is now visible because you added a phone number And what about those who don't have facebook? No problem. Just make a new contact and you will have it there Whats even better? Once you have settled this once, it automatically synchronises to the facebook and google server. So when your phone is reformatted or whatever happen, just add you fb account and gmail again, and there you go..its all there THAT my friend is the BEST way to utilize facebook for me until now..Even friends of old ages added me on facebook and my nexus one helped getting their number too it was a nightmare. |

i dont know, i never had timeouts with swiftp before even when the phone is idle. i've tried FTPserver also but swiftp is rather easier to use. one app to do 2 apps job is rather simpler for me i guess.
well, everyone has their own preferences. im just suggesting, not trying to compete with you master shahz. |

IMHO, the bad 'presses or publicity, about N1 is due to the lack of commitments from Google/HTC/TMo to resolve the problem as soon as possible. They let users doing the troubleshooting by themselves.

Yesterday, I tried some testing with N1.
To downgrade N1 superphone to normal classic phone 1) Get and install Task Killer from Market 2) Disable data connection via cellular a) Dial *#*#4636#*#* b) Phone Information -> Menu -> More -> Disable data connection Now the N1 WILL NOT connect to Internet or) Make new bogus APN and set it as default. or) Edit the current APN, and change the APN to the bogus APN, example celcom3g -> celcomg3 3) Open Task Killer and KILL launcher... Now your N1 only can use Dialer/Phone only.. Yes, you cannot access any other menus or apps at all. If you bored the classic phone mode, reset the N1 to get back to original state; Push Power + vol_down + trackball buttons simultaneously . Don forget to correct the apn setting if you want the data connections (GPRS, EDGE, UMTS, HSDPA) back. BTW, do it at your own risk Thank you. |

This my ways to conserve battery life.
1) Add Power control widget to the desktop/screen : Refer to my screenshot in page 3 in this thread. You can disable gps, bluetooth, wifi, set brightness, auto-sync, at you home screen. I enable them only when I need it. 2) Delete account ? Gmail or other accounts ? Menu -> Settings -> Accounts & sync You can : 1) Uncheck the auto-sync. 2) click the acocunt -> remove account 3) Use task killer. Download them from Market |

To remove your google account, use bahathir's method or alternatively:
Home screen -> menu -> settings -> applications -> manage applications -> google service that you want to disable (make sure u enable the filter) and clear its data.. |
