via terminal app -> Requires root

Copy recovery-RA-nexus-v1.6.2.img to the root of your sdcard
start the terminal app
su(press enter)
flash_image recovery /sdcard/recovery-RA-nexus-v1.6.2.img(press enter)

you can get terminal via android market

my Cyanogen Mod 5.0.3 has it pre-installed when i flashed it.

**take note though, you need to rename the .img file to something without numbers (keep the file extension .img), as i find normal terminals cant type numbers lolz.. unless you bought "Better Terminal Emulator"

hey guys..do you know of any good free dvd to mp4 for nexus one?? i found a few..but they just don't really support 800x480 conversion!

Added on March 3, 2010, 8:15 pmalso, im pretty confused about the way nexus one's contacts work..having not used androids before :

why is it that whenever i created a new contact from my phone, it kept saving to 'my contacts' in my gmail account even though i've told it not to??

i checked on 'phone' group only. i expect it to save to 'phone' group.

at the very least, save it to both 'my contacts ' and 'phone' but it just kept ssaving to 'my contacts' !!!! rclxub.gif

Hi adrive, because your phone auto syncs your contact to your gmail account.
You can set this via Accounts and Sync in phone settings. Uncheck auto-sync.

Well, I don't mind really..But it would be really a tough thing to gather all Androiders with their crazy schedules..

I was also discussing with an Androider here about establishing our own Malaysian Android community forum and blog..Thing is, there are lots of posts here and some get dumped way deep that new comers have to repost the same stuff all over again..We don't have sticky moderations access here, so having our community only for malaysians does sound like a cool idea..But I don't know how many people support my idea and I don't know what level of contributors we can have currently..But its a great thing to discuss too..

Hmm that's true shaz. It be nice for us to have our own community and it will definitely set us a part form the crowd. Is there a way that we could get a vote going on which day or day the androiders are free to attend?

Andrew chin up k m sure they will be able to figure it out

By the way m seriously proud to have the Nexus one people in my office kept on asking what model and where to buy also some even ask if they can play around with it...but there are those that is skeptical bout the performance of the phone especially the iPhone users but hey we are the owners and we know our phone very well its like an extension of yourself.

If you kill tasks indiscriminately, your phone will slow down for a bit (to reload apps that were not supposed to be killed). I find that the phone actually performs better when I let the OS handle the task killing. Anyway, in the next OS update, they are going to neuter the task killer apps by removing the key API (due to misuse).

Hi,

I am new in Android. Just got my Nexus One recently and interested to root it. Is it possible that I just root it without installing custom ROM? I read that some custom ROM still have issues so I want to use back the stock OS but want a flexibility to install paid apps from market place. Anyone care to share me or point me the steps just to root the phone without installing custom ROM?

Thanks in advance.
