hi guys, I'm getting a prominent radio station to do a review on Nexus One. I haven't got much detail yet. But any one here want to be there to elaborate more Nexus? Coz I think they don't have problem getting all info about specs and such but I think someone need to explain to them what make Nexus One special.

Will update once I got more detail from them. Right now I don't want to disclose the station name as it's still in discussion.

To rooted/unlocked N1 advanced users:
Try this latest 2.6.32 kernel..

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=635642

Some said, the kernel can make your N1 faster!!. smile.gif

Good luck.

Try this HTC_IME.apk This is the virtual keyboard.

http://doc-08-94-docs.googleusercontent.co...ZDkw?e=download

You can install to unrooted/locked stock N1. but, several features are not working.

You can remove it using Manage Application.

It is between plastic and rubber. The material is supposed to be the resin similar material as the Casio Gshock resin band. The case is fit tightly and no loose fitting at any corners/edges yet. As I said in my first impression earlier, it make the N1 a bit thicker which provide much fuller grip. Now, I can put the N1+case into the pouch much smoothly as the pouch is stretched a bit.

Added on February 21, 2010, 5:42 pmThe case has 2 colors, transparent grey which matched the metal lining of the N1. At fist glance, it seem like the N1 without casing.

He eh he he... yes, it do feel a bit 'dusty' or 'grainier' at the back of the case. I think it is fine to me. I do realized the 'dust' is getting lesser or the case is getting smoother.

Yes, my pouch has stretched a bit, but, NOT very loose if I put the N1 without the case.

IMHO, transparent grey also very nice... if the epik can produce it. smile.gif

TQ.

I don't know whether it's help or not, try, find "sdcard reload" in Market and install the sdcard reloader. The apps or widgets will unmount and mount the sdcard, and N1 will updates the media contents.

Good Luck

tcmain : Nice article.

And here is the debunk smile.gif
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=637063

Ok, I visited the Nasa's mars sunset photo galery.
http://www.nasa.gov/multimedia/imagegaller...eature_347.html

The image size is 516x387, and if you view it in N1 full screen, the image will be expanded/zoom-in. For sure you will get some banding or pixelation or contours because of it.

I generated my own fractal image with 24bits color, 480x800 using XaoS. and check it by yourself. smile.gif

Good, the N1 being scientifically test by an expert with PhD. Good read. Atleast, Google can look into it and do some software improvements.

If you are a veteran,senior computer user, then a game callled nethack will bring back the old memories. Nethack is a text based dungeon like game, which I started playing in 1990.smile.gif

QUOTE(xavier7 @ Feb 25 2010, 10:22 AM)
I see my phone (DiGi line) display H now instead of 3G after installing CyanogenMod.

Saw this on CyanogenWiki.

========================
Why do I see an 'H' for the network instead of '3G'?

    * "H" - HSDPA-mode
    * "3G" - UMTS-mode (slower)

The stock firmware shows "3G" when you the phone is in either HSPDA or UMTS mode. The "H" differentiates it now.
========================

wicked stuff biggrin.gif
*
So, why do you think, Google/HTC disable in it the stock ROMs? smile.gif My conspiracy theory is..... THEY already KNEW and acknowledged, the signal flip-flops. If they that on purpose to hide the problem, , then they soo wicked and guilty as charged. smile.gif

Mught be true... HTC vs Google, N1/Passion vs Desire smile.gif But, both are in different markets or tergets.. Wow...the war within both companies. smile.gif But, still, if HTC made bad N1, then their reputation will be bad also... not Google... (Mmm... partially though).

IMHO, N1 is for a realy geeks who loves and breathe google everyday.. (like me, he heh he he) .. Desire for normal users..

I am still in 'suspend/sleep' mode, whether want to 'root' or not my N1 smile.gif..

I already set up my own crosscompile environment in my GNU/Linux laptop and successfully compiled the N1 kernel with my own preferences smile.gif

IMHO, N1 is not popular, due to the Google's marketing strategy. No ads, no display set on stores shelf, no conventional marketing. Marketing only be done on the Net, but, many peoples still want to buy it, even there are 'serious' problems. smile.gif ... To me N1 is still a great phone. I can browse internet, lowyat, read mails, updated Buzz, gtalk with shaz smile.gif in komuter, everyday. smile.gif Very convenient. Imagine, 40+ years old Pakcik 'botak' using N1 in public places.. smile.gif, where other younger generation SMS/texting or play games with their phones. smile.gif

N1 has lot's of potentials, with optimized kernel, improved dalvik vm engine, and other SW improvements.

TQ.

Added on April 1, 2010, 6:06 pmActually we are luck to own the N1, when, even the HTC malaysia staffs also never touched them smile.gif
