Note: This update is only applicable to ROM version is less than 1.66.XXX.X. <-- Copy from HTC website.
So it's not applicable for 1.66 rom. Wonder if those that already install the previous hotfix, still need this or not?
I like this one. Thinking of getting one from them. About RM 21-22, excluding delivery. Anyone interested (to create a bulk for this)?

I tried to restore Complete System plus programs using Sprite Backup after I flashed to 1.66 but failed.
Tried to backup complete system plus programs using SpriteBackup in 1.66 and it failed however I managed to backup and restored the complete system plus programs using SPB Backup.

I will be using both for backup in future.

1.66 has given me to much issues and I am now back on 1.42, which has not been a problem at all. rclxms.gif
1.42 was fully restored by SpriteBackup.

I tried to restore complete system backup using Sprite backup after I SSPL with Topix 1.1.2, but after restore, unable to boot up my phone. probably software conflict... End up only able to restore my contacts and messages successfully... after that reverted back to 1.48, due to lack of Chinese support in cooked ROMs... Wonder if anybody on XDA is cooking up ROMs based on the new 1.66 Asian ROM..? brows.gif

Anybody else can comment on how the new 1.66 is working for them? Planning to upgrade soon...

Make sure you turn off all auto update setting under setting> data, like auto update weather, stock, time.....
That is no way to turn off the data connection by ori HD2 setting, you need a tweak by using other programe to turn it off.

HOW TO DISABLE DATA CONNECTION

Warning: This will not only disable, but remove the data connection all together.

Go to "Settings" -> "Menu" -> "All Settings" -> "Connections" -> "Connection Setup" -> "Menu", and disable the "Enable Auto Configuration".

Then return to home, again go to "Setting" -> "Wireless Controls" -> "Menu" -> "Connections".

Under the Maxis/Digi/Celcom Internet Settings, select "Manage existing connection" -> "General" -> "Delete Settings"

Once complete, try go to "Settings" -> "Wireless Controls" -> "Data Connection". You should receive an error message say that it was unable to connect to the internet, etc. Work on my HD previously, should work on HD2.

Wifi, bluetooth and other wireless connection should work just fine. Anyway, with HD2, it's a bit pity if you don't subscribe to any data plan. sweat.gif With the 4.3" screen, it really is the best mobile gadget ever that allow you to online anywhere, anytime. drool.gif drool.gif

So far for battery life, full charge can last me 30 mins of calls, 10-20 sms, internet browsing for 1-2 hrs. Battery consumption on GPS is suprisingly good. I mean good because it last almost as long as my HD, although HD2 has bigger screen and lower battery capacity, it still quite good.

1+ hr of GPS consume about 30%.

The phone drain the battery mainly when you type your sms, not when you send. If you really spend 3 hrs (with the screen on), of course the battery bar is going to drop. :sweats: around 30-40% is normal for 3hrs.

I charge my phone every night, maybe I'm used to it already.laugh.gif

Anyway, never let your phone battery drop below 10%, it will spoil the battery. Better to charge when it still have power remain, even if it's still 50%, than to wait till it drop till 10%.

personally...i think the fastest and easiesyw way is to install BsB....

4 steps only...

Launch BsB --> Menu --> Data Connections --> Disabled

luckyghost: "I tot now mid valley pda expert got CNY promotion is selling HD 2 at RM 2399??"

HD2 is much better than HD except that you have to get use to the capacitive screen.
