Hey guys,

anyone has any idea how to solve the sms timestamp error issue?

I sent out at 9 but reply was around 8.50 or so.

The replied messages were on top and thats really disturbing.

Please help
*
hmm, do timezone correctly set?

well, what is the time u received the replied sms actually? like u 9pm sent out the message, but u received it actually at 9.50pm, but it shows 8.50pm. then this is definitely ur timezone error.

but if it is only 10mins sway from correct time. hmm, then probably rom problem.

juz head over to xda site. since it is waterset, so i think u dun even nid to worry about warranty isnt it?

get ur device hard-spl, flash suitable custom rom. that is so much better than u upgrade to any official rom posted in htc website.

what is meant by gremlins?
*
gremlin=any cause of trouble, difficulties, etc. For my case my HD2 acts funny once in a while, including Sleep of Death.
After multi flash my device feels very fluid.

Just flashed to Dutty's 2.4

So far so good...gonna test battery life and call quality fully tomorrow smile.gif

The Duttys M-Lang v2.4 is a good pick. But the radio ROM is giving me background noise for some reason. Power consumption seems to be great too! But there is a bug which I encountered. DO NOT use Maxis website to send an auto-configuration. For some reason it will disable or crash permanently the HTC Message. So you won't be able to see All Messages or compose new SMS from Sense UI. It will say 'Message Restoring' and nothing happens.

Flashing Season! I just did a multi flash trying to get rid of gremlins.

Backup>Flash Stock 1.66>Hard Reset>Flash Dutty 1.8a>Hard Reset>Flash Radio 2.08.50.08_2>Hard Reset>Restore

All in about 40 mins. Hope the gremlins will disappear.

Actually there's an easier way to ensure you get a real clean flash without using a stock ROM. Try Task 29 or MTTY from xda-developers. Task 29 will reformat the entire phone including certain areas not accessible on a normal flash. It will erase everything except Radio ROM and bootloader.

I had a bad flash until I discovered Task 29 and it has been on my procedures from then on. By the way Radio ROM 2.09.xx.xx is out and it has been good for me. But no 576MB RAM Hack.

Don't worry, as long as you get pass the Hard SPL flashing. There won't be any more problem. If you have a bad flash you can always restart in bootloader and try again. All the flashing is script automated and there won't be any human intervention. Just make sure your antivirus is disabled and you have a full charge before starting.

There are a few ways to do it. First you need to Hard SPL the phone. Ensure you have version 1.42 before proceeding. If you have a higher version than 1.42 then you need Hard SPL v2. Then you find a SN that passes the check on HTC website depending on which region you want. Then you flash.

The stock ROM will not be able to do a check because Hard SPL bypasses everything. Only the Radio and Main ROM will be replaced. The Hard SPL will be untouched. If you want to replace Hard SPL to the region that you want. Then you flash from the SD card itself.

Will give Task 29 a try next time. wink.gif I had 576MB before and HD2 does not need that extra RAM released. It is over rated and restricts your ROM and Radio choice.

I don think it's the time zone error. I double checked and it's actually set to gmt +8 Malaysia Singapore.

By the way, to be exact the message I received were always 7 minutes behind my phone's time.

I tried installing the cab and registry from xda and still no luck.

Rmb I saw a member posted he set his phone to Internet time and the problem was solved. Anyone mind to share how to synchroniZe the time with Internet server?

hmm, if thats the trick, then u could try this.

scroll to 'settings' tab. 'data services'. -> 'internet time sync'.
altho i feel sometime it works, but most of the time it wont. i prefer to use timesync.

Couldn't resit, I reflashed with Task 29 and hope my problem will go away. Task 29 will remove auto Hard Reset caused by many flashes. smile.gif

Nope, I went straight to 1.72 based ROM when I got mine. I have a feeling the 1.66 official ROM is pretty good including the 2.06 radio. Does it crack when on the call?
*
No cracking ... but @ my area (Bukit Jelutong) my signal strength sucks (MAXIS). The culprit could be MAXIS itself. On my old nokia and motorola also showing same problem. At times it does get warm, on 1.48 is fine though. sad.gif

Not to mention the Radio ROM compatible with this hack gives very bad call quality. Background noise and cracking is all over the place. Its like talking to a two way radio. Hahaha!

According to Duttys himself (yes I communicated with him), he recommends a Task 29 every 2 flashes.

Yes it has been reported that ROM based on v1.72 causes warming while v1.48 is fine. I would recommend the official Asian ROM v1.66. Maybe that'll help. Also HK just released an official v1.72 ROM with a Radio that is more suited for Asian telcos. Maybe you should try that.

I didn't have any problem with the Radio that came with 576MB, reception was normal. Only reduced battery life.

My preference is 2.08.50.08_2 Strong signal and long battery life. I have not tried 2.09 though.

2.08.50.08_2 + 2.10 ROM = OK
2.08.50.08_2 + 1.66 ROM = noise

Now using 2.09 + 1.66 ROM = delightful
