I still think DiGi idea is better , giving unlimited data without any extra hidden charge..

h/w revision is speculation. looks like Maxis is gonna wait to be the last in the world, just like last year.

is our infrastructure that bad? a few thousand iPhone4 also cannot ship around the country?

last year we were early lar for d 3gs. 31st july i got my fone redi. this year we're abysmally late.

apple clearly wants to release iphone at countries where the 3g speed is fast, not terrible like what digi and maxis is offering.

i think they're taking the business-savvy of the telco ... notice that for Malaysians, we pay lots for the iPhone and lots for the monthly package.

US$199 for iPhone4, monthly US$80
RM1790 for iPhone4, monthly RM100 < speculation ... that's quite a large difference... the main difference is that ours is unlocked.

I can vouch for that. As much as Malaysian despise their own telcos, the Americans hate theirs with unbridled hatred so much that they're likening AT&T to the DeathStar.

I've tested and tried major telcos in the States, and Verizon aren't that much better either. Sprint 4G is better, but the service coverage area is limited. And since it is 4G, it's not compatible with the iPhone 4. If you want an iPhone 4, you're stuck with either AT&T and their shitty speed, or T-Mobile if you're jailbroken and unlocked. Even so, T-Mobile speeds, since their network is not equivalent to AT&T. tops up at EDGE. So it's like being chained in the leg to AT&T whether you like it or not.

Be thankful that you have choices when you're using it in Malaysia. I certainly am, whenever I am abroad in the States and watch even the strength bar going yo-yo on my iPhone 4.

looks like its gonna be 2490 and 2990 respectively for 16 and 32GB, or maybe RM 100 -Rm150 price decrease.

1. We need to go to Maxis center to register for the IP4 or can do it online?

2. Can I pay the balance with credit card or cash?

but previous practice, you need to go maxis to register and can pay either by cash or credit card
