ok, yesterday i was testing facetime

i make a normal call, then from tat call i proceed to switch on my wifi then connect to facetime

so my normal call charges will cut off the moment my facetime is connected?
*
Your call will still be running as charged till you end the call. As mentioned, Facetime is connected via wifi. You both can use Facetime to call each other while under a wifi area for free just by using VOIP.

Redundancy or plain stupidity. That is why. I was stunned for a couple of seconds when I came across his post regarding that matter. Doesn't make sense right? IT doesn't sound oxymoron to me too.

@S4a,
If it's truly an issue, Apple would have stopped selling the iPhone 4, instead of continuing its launch.
It was an issue which was being addressed in a very distasteful manner by Apple. It's pretty much like a "WTF moment" for me to read such quote from Apple. However, as of now, the issue been rectify in some form and let's keep our finger crossed for Apple's iPhone 4.

Hmmm...what about I ignite my auto but I'll leave it idling there while I run with my sneakers to the office then? Doesn't make sense at all right? I mean come on...are we talking about opening a few applications simultaneously in your Macs, perhaps?

Regards, Joey

p.s: Don't forget your auto when you have reached home thou.

tinkerbell, well sometimes u make a call, not for the purpose of the vidcall
mana tau in btwn u need to switch to that, simple as that

u dun expect every call to start with vid conferencing, and how the hell do you know the other party is on wifi or not, so at least u call n ask 1st , no?

oh ya , and to joey, be it stupidity or whatsoever, if it still doesnt make sense to you, you have only yourself to blame for

@HappyGOLuckyme,
Yeah but if stock's not gonna be suffice, I doubt Maxis will have any prepaid sets to sell. The same may be applicable to DiGi.

@eugenechiuu,
Hmm.. well in that case u just have to keep checking to ensure ur not being charged based on a pay per use biggrin.gif

That means that they prioritize customers taking a contract? Undecided whether to get with or without contract now. hmm.gif

why wouldnt they? did they stop the prepaid plan with 3GS? no they did not, maxis somehow is set to give customer choices, iPhones with 1 or 2 year contract and also without contract, why wouldnt they change this?

Considering the unpredictable supply of iP4, Apple Online Store & Digi, nobody can assure that they will not amend any of the existing plans.

@Happy

I am a non-contract customer too. I got my 3GS on 31st July 2009, first day of launch. Hopefully this year will be the same.

Added on August 24, 2010, 12:07 amBtw, I collected my set in Maxis Sunway Pyramid.

meaning you bought without contract? the prepaid plan? hehe ur lucky bro.. i remembered the prepaid plan was very hard to get since the demand for the phone was high that time..

anyway.. i think that our telcos will not provide the outright purchase since the demand for the iphone 4 is very high..

nope apple makes it a point that one of the telcos sell outright/prepaid plans to customers, those of you whom are worried about the prepaid plans make sure to get it at launch day itself and of course head to those maxis centers without much clientele

facetime does not charge credits on ur phone...the only charges are the normal calls that u are doing before switching it to facetime...but once u switch to facetime...the call will end and switch over to facetime and wont be charging any phone credits...but of course both of the facetime users must be under wifi in order to facetime....

i dun have an iphone 4 to test but i think this is the way it works.....as for new upcoming iOS 4.1? will have an option to have facetime either from phonecall or email..
from apple website...u can also factime without phonecalls
*
as you say, u dun have an iphone 4 to test

see, wen u make a call, wen switching to face time, the call is still connected, and u can still converse over it, without breaking, while u wait for the vid call to connect

anyway, i think i will try doing it again with wifi reception, but without internet line, see how it works
