anyone got S478 motherboard to let go ?
I suspect my motherboard screwed up
Keep auto power down
change psu, ram and gpu, still doing that
suspect CPU or Motherboard liao, last components (I got 3 CPU, 3.0, 2.8 and 2.4) so not so scared.. scared cannot find motherboard only

I used to have the computer below... Until the motherboard capacitor died. So repair RM 100 for a more slower computer than before.

Still using Pentium 4M 1.7 Ghz on my Aspire 5500z. bought 5 years ago and still use it for playing old FPS.

yes but somewhat this thread is dying, or slowly dead my PC now can actually play DIABLO 3  im playing with 1280x1024 resolution, with everything LOW  im impressed with it, after 10 years

wow..windows 8 on socket 478pin??? myself spare system using p4 prescott o/c to 3.75Ghz running on win7 also quite struggling. can feel during entering windows, slow like snail when loading stuff.

I am with my Win7 now. Win 7 is a little bit demanding in procerssing but it is sufficient for me to surf net and do some light gaming. Recently just install back olden day game -C&C Zero Hours.  Cum, my rig can handle it nicely in Win 7.

it can handle win7 quite nicely granted after booted into the windows lar.it just the initial booting process especially if u also have some startup programs to go with it when entering windows say antivirus...and I even opt to disable the memory pagefile (the virtual memory) to speed up my system...hahaha, but unfortunately still slow like snail lor. My Abit IC7 Vanilla + Pentium 4 3.0Ghz Prescott still serve me well. It's running on winXP SP2 with lot's of old school games on it.
The only thing that went wrong with this P4 rig is the CM high power PSU.

Disable virtual memory does help to boost the ssytem a bit. I am doing that on my system too.
