QUOTE(herojack41 @ May 8 2011, 11:07 PM) I am doubt as the performance of SSD wil be somehow bottleneck by SATA1 controller. But it will still be impressive if the disc transfer rate can achieve at 120MB/s & above. Just wandering with SSD performance on old school SATA 1. |

QUOTE(janszmatt @ Jul 7 2011, 06:17 PM) PCI-E GPU has a lot varient nowadays. You can get any PCI-E GPU to slot in on your mobo. You may want to try with HD3xxx series to slot in your mobo perhaps? A note to you, your CPU will be bottlenecking the HD3xxx in performance. |

depends on the usage, if just wanna use for HTPC / H.264 acceleration, then budget cards also will do, like GT4xx series, or the models that edmin mentioned

Thanks for the suggestion. Ya my concern is the GPU bottleneck by the CPU.

QUOTE(janszmatt @ Jul 9 2011, 08:48 AM) the max you can get around CPU bottlenecks would be GT240 or GT440, IMHO. GT220 is also powderful giler already for P4 CPU This post has been edited by edministrator: Jul 10 2011, 09:02 PM |

I think GT210 also kinda hard to handle for the good old P4 processor XD

QUOTE(dlwl @ Jul 28 2011, 11:03 PM) just curious, if add a PCI SATAII card, will the speed improve, or would it be bottlenecked by the PCI bus? bottlenecked by the PCI bus, definately. unless it is PCIe interface. I have a PCI SATA 1 card (budget card) in my rig and the read write speed is the same as using external HDD on USB2.0 interface. This post has been edited by edministrator: Jul 29 2011, 07:03 AM |
