B.yond needs to improve much if it want to attract more subscribers:

1. I want to browse TV guide without changing the channel that I currently watch. When I input channel numbers, the channels are changing as I want only the info of channel only... I hope you'all understands.

2. Favorites function.

3. Info function.

4. Blah3 sad.gif

1. Try pressing the OK button instead of going to the tv guide. The disadvantage is that u can only see 1 channel at a time blush.gif

Added on January 14, 2010, 8:56 pmoh yeah the OK button works as info function as well

Dunno about Oct 2009 firmware, but on Dec 2009 firmware pressing the TV button brings out an awesome guide that can be navigated using the arrow buttons on the remote.

Maybe not enough audience for commercial to be viable...or maybe no HD commercial yet.

Press the 3 buttons from left to right (power, up, down (or down, up, forgot the second button is up or down) ), then the decoder is boot itself and check for auto-update. If I not mistaken, current firmware is 23-Dec-2009.
*
From what I was told by my Installer, to update the decoder software you need to do the following:

1) Switch off the decoder at the main power supply
2) Switch on back the decoder
3) Immediately after the 'Boot' message appears on the decoder screen, press 'on/off' button followed by 'ch+' button and 'on/off' button again in quick succession
4) The decoder will reboot itself and the 'Auto Update' message should appear
5) If this does not work, it means that you already have the latest software version

Please try and let me know whether it works smile.gif

Astro. On NatGeo HD. It's an extension of the commercial featuring the little girl and submarine, but much, much longer and more detailed.

Did you guys use a Cal-Lab lightning isolator with your previous decoders? I was told by my installer to bypass the lightning isolator when connecting the coaxial cable to the new decoder (to prevent/minimize signal loss I suppose). Hence, my other audio/visual equipment are at risk from lightning strikes to the satellite dish at the moment sad.gif

Anyone with experience in this?

Tried it. Had to repeat about 2-3 times when "boot" is showing to get response, but working in the end. Although there was nothing to update.

But after doing that, found I cannot access HBO HD anymore. Say I not subscribed to package cry.gif

Nope. When I'm going out I just unscrew the dish cable from the decoder tongue.gif
