The 'toggle aspect ratio' button on the remote control is not working.
Any one any idea?
Bcos for not HD chanel we need to change back the layout/aspect ratio

i tried to set 720p and compare with the setting of 1080i,
my answer is 1080i is still the best quality for me,
not same as what other forumers said,
720p is the best,
is it because of tv(i am using hd ready tv only) or because i am not watching 'always move' programme like sport channels?

5th Jan still no T&C ppl call
then call CS on the 6th morning
7th afternoon T&C ppl called
8th installer called and confirm 9th 11am

OK, as confirmed, they come in today 9th 11:30am
installation took around 30 minutes, change everything, dish, cables, decoder and remote control. Then the installer contact CS to activate my new sim, just 2-4 minutes CS called back n everything is done.

Why?

If you can use HDMI and Digital audio coax there is no need to even bother using component cables. Those calming the picture quality is better on SD are wrong and simply haven't set their TV's up correctly. The only difference I see is a slightly more saturated colour but no difference in actual picture quality.

by using component you will not get HD quality and you can only get 5.1 by using the digital audio coax. PLus now you have to change TV inputs to watch HD and SD channel. Do you really want to do that?

I think a lot of people have issues with their TV set up rather then the decoder. I know I spent quite a bit of time ensuring all my menu settings in my Sony TV and Home theater where set correctly before it worked properly for me.

Yeah, I concur with TVSPY's statement, as long as you configure your TV setting, aspect ratio correctly, I can watch both HD and SD via HDMI without difficulties, just the SD is at 4:3 with pillar box(actual picture size/quality); HD well fit into entire LCD wide TV screen at 16:9

But Malaysian movies can be encoded to HD as they use film instead of digital. And I noticed that some production houses like Opera Klasik and MediaHustler is "HD Ready" as noticed newer dramas and telemovies has pillarbox that fits 16:9 aspect ratio. I don't know if they have already encoded their telemovies and dramas into HD for future broadcasts. At least we can watch malaysian movies on HD some point in the future... And millions of $$ is needed to upgrade their broadcast system...

Having seen this elsewhere in the world the cost of upgrading the cameras and the production facility is actually the cheapest part. The cost of HD production per hour is nearly 3 times that of SD due to the extra visible detail. Any broadcaster moving to HD has to retrain all their staff and production standards have to increase to that of a hollywood movie and thats not cheap.

Sets have to be rebuilt, makeup artists retrained, camera men retrained, audio engineers retrained, I could go on and on.

Once the production has been made the editing of the HD and the 5.1 takes about 3 times longer, not due to file sizes or anything like that (HD equipment is as fast a SD these days), but due to the level of detail and getting it right for us to watch. The guys at RTM most probably are still working in mono!!!!

Astro promised some local production this year, it will be interesting to compare the production quality in HD compared to other channels.

TVB can shoot their show in HD because it can sell to whole world, ROI is short. Bit if RTM/TV3 shoot the show in HD, their show can sell to which country... 

Oh yeah I can totally see Astro production in HD.

Juz installed my B.yond, waitin' 4 da smart card to activate... in the 3rd in my town to install b.yond...

Programmed my remote to work on my SD Panasonic TV... I think the remote cannot accept SD TV...
Component cable works well
Firmware update to the latest software....
Can't wait to watch...
