QUOTE(toshio14 @ Jan 11 2010, 05:19 PM)
SG, again i never said Cahill was wrong. i just said it was a classless act by him. i do not know how that can be interpreted as blaming Cahill for our loss of point. i certainly did not said (or even think for that matter) that Cahill being classless in that incident contribute to our loss of points

we were poor for 3/4 of the match. that contribute to the loss of point. full stop.
*
There's no need to pick on Cahill's "classless" act either. He had no obligation to stop playing, and if the referee decided to play on then it's all fair game. Nah... who cares tongue.gif what's done is done and at the end of the day we escaped from defeat and it's commendable that the team didn't give up and was rewarded a goal, no matter how sloppy it was.

I guess nobody disagrees that it was a lacklustre performance from the lads, and we didn't deserve 3 points anyway.

In the coming games we may be playing without a spine - No Robin, no Fabs, no Song, possibly no Gallas either. The thought is indeed shuddering.

Anyway, this is really funny. laugh.gif

Coming games is the toughest 1. The next 6 games might be crucial to decide the title winner.

Well, Cahill's "class" is just another incident we got in the game. We discuss it as an isolated issue - it doesn't have to do with the match performance or result.

Once again, it's up to the player how he wants to act - and the same is up to the fans, on how the fans interpret his (the player's) action.
AW's warning to Denilson is a bit harsh to the boy but it's a tough lesson to be learned, not only to Denilson but to everyone who is playing in EPL. If you want to get medical attention, collapse and hold the ball. End of the story.
It's true that whenever there is a change in the team, a new balance is required in terms of positions, roles and responsibilities. As mentioned many times before, this season is very different whereby we have key players being absent (thru injuries or Internationals) one after another doh.gif It has been a hard season for us and I am proud that we have been doing well with all these.

I thought Arsene didn't warn him, he just talk to Denilson about it. Most online news said so, only one or two that say it's a warning.

I wonder why must skysports news report it as a warning. Increasing a bit of sensation to the news?

ARSENE WENGER has told his Arsenal players they have 18 months to convince him to stay on as manager for the rest of his life.

The Frenchman's current contract runs out at the end of next season.

And Wenger, 60, has admitted he is taking his time before making a decision on his future.

The Gunners have not won any silverware since lifting the FA Cup in 2005.

But Wenger, who took over in September 1996, insisted trophies will not help make his mind up.

His main concern is the club remains in good hands.

He told French TV if he signs a new contract it will be for the long-term and he would not look to work elsewhere.

Wenger added: "I am giving myself a bit of time to think.

"What is important is that the club is in good hands, whether they are mine or someone else's.

"Whether I personally leave on a positive or negative note is a little bit less important."

Arsenal are still in the title hunt despite a frustrating 2-2 draw with Everton in blizzard conditions.
......

How serious is this? Tactic or for real

*
First of all there is no quote of Arsene that say the player will decide his future. He just said he's giving himself some time to think.

Check out the bolded part.

The writer said the players need to convince Arsene to stay in the first sentence but there is no quote about that from Arsene himself. So how do the players convince Arsene in this case? The only thing that I could think of is by winning trophies. But then a few sentence below you'll see there is a quote by Arsene that say it's not about trophies it's about whether the club will be in good hands or not. Isn't that an obvious contradiction?

http://www.7amkickoff.com/2010/kuranyi-tur...287amkickoff%29

It's just a random name drop by 7amkickoff, but somehow Kuranyi could be a good addition which fits Arsene's criteria. At 27 he would be in his peak age and provide a good foil to Robin once the latter returns, and the same time offer experience and a role model to the youngsters in their early 20s or late teens. On paper he probably isn't a red hot, tip top striker that can score 25-30 goals every season, but if the price is right he could be a decent option for us. Several things which may work against him would be (1)The teams linked with him are midtable teams, i.e. maybe he truly isn't top class material (2)At 27 and a seasoned veteran, he might not agree to lower wages and a non-guaranteed first team position (3)Dudu and Robin, although both of them have been unlucky with injuries.

Those who has watched him play before... opinions?

I've watched him played for Germany before and he's quite decent on both technics and pace. But he might not be the 'intelligent' player that AW is looking.. tongue.gif Again, NB is coming back and it's not scoring that we've to worry about.
IMO, he's price quite fair and maybe he can really be the 'fox-in-the-box'... laugh.gif
