As for Merida case it's not really a surprise, Fabregas set the standard really high for Arsenal's young players. Now it seem like they are expecting themselves to break into the 1st team at 18 or 19 and be in the starting eleven at 20 or 21. Maybe they don't realize Fab is a special case, someone like him only appear once in an era. Anyway if Merida is really going I hope it'll be for good ... for us and for him.

diaby play ok la. he track back pretty well too although at the beginning there are few bad passes from him.

The one who goes invisible is Ramsey and Denilson, but Denilson did score one for us so no complain from me.

Anyway the midfield kinda disjointed and the snow didn't help too. I believe couple of times it got into some players eyes like Traore when he tries to clear the ball nearing the game's end.

Well, Cahill's "class" is just another incident we got in the game. We discuss it as an isolated issue - it doesn't have to do with the match performance or result.

Once again, it's up to the player how he wants to act - and the same is up to the fans, on how the fans interpret his (the player's) action.
AW's warning to Denilson is a bit harsh to the boy but it's a tough lesson to be learned, not only to Denilson but to everyone who is playing in EPL. If you want to get medical attention, collapse and hold the ball. End of the story.
It's true that whenever there is a change in the team, a new balance is required in terms of positions, roles and responsibilities. As mentioned many times before, this season is very different whereby we have key players being absent (thru injuries or Internationals) one after another doh.gif It has been a hard season for us and I am proud that we have been doing well with all these.

I thought Arsene didn't warn him, he just talk to Denilson about it. Most online news said so, only one or two that say it's a warning.

I wonder why must skysports news report it as a warning. Increasing a bit of sensation to the news?

ARSENE WENGER has told his Arsenal players they have 18 months to convince him to stay on as manager for the rest of his life.

The Frenchman's current contract runs out at the end of next season.

And Wenger, 60, has admitted he is taking his time before making a decision on his future.

The Gunners have not won any silverware since lifting the FA Cup in 2005.

But Wenger, who took over in September 1996, insisted trophies will not help make his mind up.

His main concern is the club remains in good hands.

He told French TV if he signs a new contract it will be for the long-term and he would not look to work elsewhere.

Wenger added: "I am giving myself a bit of time to think.

"What is important is that the club is in good hands, whether they are mine or someone else's.

"Whether I personally leave on a positive or negative note is a little bit less important."

Arsenal are still in the title hunt despite a frustrating 2-2 draw with Everton in blizzard conditions.
......

How serious is this? Tactic or for real

First of all there is no quote of Arsene that say the player will decide his future. He just said he's giving himself some time to think.

Check out the bolded part.

The writer said the players need to convince Arsene to stay in the first sentence but there is no quote about that from Arsene himself. So how do the players convince Arsene in this case? The only thing that I could think of is by winning trophies. But then a few sentence below you'll see there is a quote by Arsene that say it's not about trophies it's about whether the club will be in good hands or not. Isn't that an obvious contradiction?

Haha Ade seem like he doesn't have enough shirt, he's spotted to wear a shirt with Arsenal crest in an interview back in Togo after the horrible gun attack on Togo football team.

I wonder what will Man City fans think of this,

Pause for a while and reflect on my post before you reply.
Long before some of you guys can recognize Diaby as a top gunner, a number of you hotheads were going to railroad him out of Emirates, just like the Gooners did to Ade and now some bigoted hot head City fans amongst us are doing now.

I have always being a fan of Diaby and Eboue, irrespective of their clubs, recognizing talent such as Diaby and Drogba,  Richards et al.  What I can't stand is 'misguided or misanthrophic' fans going along slating those players ,and hopefully that in some small measure here  I can rectify this situation.

My advice, as an uncle, please do not be duped by bigoted, parochial or the ethnocentric media with their vested interest or agenda.
And that includes the 'rabid fans' among us. doh.gif

I don't really have much grudge towards Ade although I must admit stuffs that happened between him and Arsenal fans not so long ago is always not favorable to me. Still, at least he should have learned from from what happened between him and the gooners last time and have a bit of respect towards Man city fans by not wearing such shirt publicly. Anyway that's enough about him.

As for Diaby, I've never been the one who didn't like him, I've always think he'll come through. Arsene have enough belief to put him in the team, he'll give enough opportunity for worthy players to take their chances. Diaby is young and playing at top level at his age he will be exposed and make mistake, but this season it can be seen that he started to do better.

From my point of view we lost the midfield battle. To many time being dispossess and sloppy passes and keeping the ball for far too long. The wingers didn't contribute much, offensively and defensively. And Fabianski? He doesn't look confident at all.

Arsene revamped Arsenal in every aspect of how a good modern football club should be : great playing style, good academy (some already consider it the best), new stadium and the most important one paving the path for the club into the future through sustainable development (just look at MU's off the pitch woes with their finance and Glazer's clan right now). But none of this seem to hit into some people heads. The trophies might be missing recently but people really should have a little belief.

Geesh. Why can't we have fans who just enjoy Arsenal for being Arsenal? If there's no enjoyment in watching Arsenal, why even bother to watch?

I'm hoping he'll do good there and come back a better player for Arsenal.
