Everton played well, for most of the times they managed to exploit our left hand side... I don't see any support for traore as well from the forwards. Eduardo doesn't help much that side having strayed up front.

Vela certainly lift the burden from traore a little bit..

Well Diaby was very hardworking again, good performance.

Pity Denilson though, he almost cost us another goal..
for pienaar's goal I noticed he was already on the ground outside the Everton box...

QUOTE(Vinci777 @ Jan 10 2010, 01:24 AM)
Yes. He might use his pace on Silves but on teams like everton that play pressing and ariel balls, i still feel that Silves was the better choice. Traore doenst seems to cope well when being pressured. Everton players was pressing us the whole match. Our defenders dont even have a few seconds on their leg and decide who to passes. Anyhow, traore was very quick and i wonder why almunia cant kept his cool and communicate with traore to avoid the clash. I knew traore was gonna get the ball (if there is no mistake tongue.gif) because we know he is dam quick. biggrin.gif Those mistakes at high speed is what injured the players. Our player injured easily maybe because our the style we play. Our passing require players to stretch themselves to reach the ball.

Hope i hope Song could quickly come back to us. We dont get lucky everytime. T.T

I don't see how that would make a difference because if Silves were to play at left back he would have been far out left manning his designated position and Everton's long balls and aerial threat were all down the middle with the likes of Fellaini and Co., unless you expect Silves to abandon that left hand side and drift into the middle taking part in the heading fiasco.

And as for the pressing it will be even worst if Silves is pressed. I don't think I need to elaborate anymore on how quick Silves' feet are and how good his ball control actually is.

we did play below par, but we deserve a point. the last 5 minutes was full with adrenaline rush, everyone was hunger for a winning goal, but fail to capitalized the momentum .again, kudos for the team for showing us never say die attitude and even with 1 point, im still happy with the result

our defending was awful today. the two goals we let in was absolutely rubbish. for the first goal, no one picked osman although he ran all the way from home, and i honestly felt that almunia could've made a much more concerted effort to try and save that ball. i mean, the defending was bad to begin with, but i expect more from the goalie to attempt to save the ball as the last line of defense. as for the second goal, that was classic case of what happens when both your CBs go up to join the attack without realising that song isn't there anymore to mop up the mess.

with regards to diaby, the comments to say that he's bad and he's sh!t seem pretty harsh to me. he did play badly in the beginning of the 2nd half, but he was the one who was harrying the everton players, making vital interceptions (including the clearance that would've given osman the simplest of tap ins after gallas was totally hoodwinked by cahill) and he provided the ball for rosicky to score the equaliser. diaby has never been my favourite player, but he was one of our better performers out there today and i believe that credit should be given where credit is due.

our midfield was totally disjointed today. we miss song terribly and denilson isn't coping well without him. also, our passes were pretty slow, most of the time allowing everton time to regroup and totally crowd out the arsenal players. they were also VERY uncomfortable with the tight marking and constant harrying from the everton players. the introduction of rosicky really helped to bring much needed creativity into the midfield and also bring some stability to it as well.

today, the players who i thought performed the worst today was traore, ramsey, almunia and arshavin. while i am willing to say that the first two may have lost out due to lack of experience, i feel that the latter two have no excuse. i do hope that rosicky gets to start in the next game while traore gets his head sorted out, especially after the earful he was getting from gallas towards the end. the poor kid looked like he was going to cry. as for the double A's, perhaps an enforced rest to remind them that they will be dropped if they put in underpar performances may do some good.

for those who say that the cold and snow was affecting our play, aeroberg did make an observation that everton were also playing under the same conditions and yet they still brought home the bacon while arsenal didn't. we have no one else to blame except ourselves that we dropped 2 points today.

Thank god Rosicky came back from injury already to help Arsenal.I bet he felt relieve to pay back the believes of Arsenal for him after this years of injury he had.

For me,Traore was really poor in the game but he did well enough. Each time he did a mistake or let a player slip pass through he redeem his mistake back.Silvestre will be dead if left against Donovan.

Diaby was pretty hardworking today.Yea he never show any highly contribution but without him Arsenal could be down with more goals.

Now i hope Denilson and Gallas will be alright although i doubt Denilson will be back anytime soon.

I think we played quite well, despite not enough confidence to move ball forwards and trough the middle because no Song of Fab to control
OMG, Nasri played very well, his contribution was good, for him not to score was unfortunate..

i know im complaining, but please Wenger, look at our GK, Almunia..
he cant communicate well, always make blunder, clearing out the line but didnt get the ball, which was very dangerous..
1st goal also can prevented if he react quicker..
I try to compare him with Given or Robert Green, he totally lost in every area. He still smiling there because Arsenal can score goals..
if he was in a team like West Ham, surely he concede 50+ goal already.

haha sorry for babling guys..but Im confident Arsenal still can win the titles, the way we press last 10 minutes makes me elated. that's the champion;s way!

Keep faith guys!

Bro lostasylum,

It's true that the snow had affected both teams.

In fact, as I mentioned before, we as the host should have home advantage during unpredictable weather like this yet it didn't sad.gif

The main reason why is because our gameplay is more on multiple passes. This requires understanding and knowing the team movement. The snow was blocking the clearer view and at the same time, reduce the tempo a lot.

I am not giving excuse that we drew just because of the snow, but this indeed played some "roles" in our draw.

... the snow; together with some "mistakes", some "inexperience", early goal conceded ( = we got desperate) and all had contributed to today result smile.gif

peace out - heading to sleep now smile.gif

Hope the snow is happy in the next few games

We paid the price for our 1st half play. I bet we didn't expect Everton to be that good closing us down what with them being thrashed 1-6 in our last encounter. They surprised us with their pace and discipline and we were so not ready for them that we panicked with our passing game and they were literally snatching the ball from out feet several times during that half.

We seemed to have learned the lesson in the 2nd half and distributed the ball much quicker but Fellaini and his hair was still in the way.

Overall, 1 point each is about right for this game.

just hope that birmingham can continue their good runs.

well for me, arsenal playing style were really affected by snow, while everton always use cahill, donovan to make the opening... so this makes the difference. they have 2 player maker to make havoc while us , need to pass around futhermore we dont have a good player maker, holder.

well just hope that AW can buy someone during the jan transfer..

for me almunia really dont deserves to get the 1st team. prefer manone tho... but currently he is the best keeper (experienced one) at the squad.
I dont think AW will buy a new keeper tho...

hihih.. birmingham scored the 1st goal..

Time to support Birmingham. They are 1-0 up already haha.

Anyway Almunia for me is really a shaky keeper. Not a consistent one very much like David James type. When he is on form, nothing can pass him.But when he goes to bad,he plays like an inexperience keeper.

I believe Wenger will never change the goal keeper department. He still trust Almunia more than any of us.As much as u guys like Mannone,u should know he is still very young for a goalkeeper.

Wenger needs to spend but appropriately on the right place. If ANC still goes on I am sure Wenger knew what he had to do to make sure they Arsenal is on top or not far from the leader when Arsenal finishes all top four matches by 2nd week of February.

Guys, i am sorry to interrupt..
Some of you might say the snow made the situations of the game become difficult.
Most of reactions against the weather and wanted to call off the game for tonight.

One thing that i don't really understand, some might get other reactions if the games called off,now after the game been played, some still want to complain about the weather.

Sorry for what i've said.
I am based on what i read from few pages back. notworthy.gif
