i thought it was a great cup game where league position does not have any effect to the match. both teams prefer attacking rather than defending, with us understandably having more of the possession. West Ham however looks very dangerous on counter attack. and with Silvestre playing the left back position, anything is possible from their counter attack

however, i do think we slightly deserve the win as we controlled the game more and having more clear chances. Carlos Vela showed what he can do when he make a run on defenders, god knows how come he did not do it more often during the first half

and i say this again, Dudu goal was pure class
*
because in the 1st half Vela been put in the middle and eduardo on the left.
last night shows vela is better than eduardo in the left wing =P

Grats Gunners. What a great comeback !

p/s: why silvestre given the captain band. pff tongue.gif

AW is going to find a striker for the club. I bet lots of rumours will start to fly about in a while. I'm really anxious to see who fills up RVP slot for the rest of the season. We need some proven goalscorers for sure! The other time, Darren Bent was rumoured to our club. He's doing pretty well this season for sure!

errrkk.. striker is one department i'm not majorly concerned about. CB is the utmost important while DM/CM is 2nd.

Good to see Rambo playing well and smacked in another beauty. He's starting to stamp his authority in midfield now, and the competition between him, Diaby, and Denilson as the candidate for the final position will only make the team better. Rambo's probably the most two-footed attacking player we have available for now.

Bolton up next, and like le Boss said that game is actually more important than this FA cup match as 3 points would put us ahead of MU and make Chelsea sweat. In the past the team often failed to take advantage of games-in-hand, and should we not grab the chance this time we might have trouble surpassing MU let alone chase Chelsea.

The transfer market is scarily quiet this time. No one new is linked with us for now with the exception of names that have already been mentioned in summer.

We must treat this Bolton game as a cup final to be honest.
I'm starting to worry about the loss of Mr Alexandre Song Billong to be honest.
As for this transfer window, we might see a possible domino effect which possibly will be started by Chelsea or Man City.

quiet is good.. biggrin.gif hehehe AW will pull out of the hat and make magic again. biggrin.gif biggrin.gif rclxms.gif

actually I think most teams will wait til this weekend's game to really assess what their needs are. Having said that, i think most of us would agreed that CB is our most important signing right now. Someone with quality but a good backup player, not really a 1st teamer. Metzelder anyone? biggrin.gif

City maybe, but Chelsea has been far too quiet since summer. Roman's being tight handed perhaps... and the punishment they received earlier might have been preventing them from approaching players in their usual aggressive manner.

Song's going off soon while Denilson's injury flared up again, but with Diaby putting in fine performances for the past few matches it seems that Abou has managed to overcome his inconsistency problem. Same with Rambo who has been impressive whenever called upon, a coming of age maybe.

Our ideal versatile defender who can slot in anywhere whenever required remains to be found... It's hard to say whether Arsene is looking for that player or not, but with all those rumours about us getting a striker (which I don't we will) they can all be a good smokescreen for Gazi and friends.

wow, why striker is not important? Most of our goal came from midfielder (actually almost all our player already scored lol) and with RVP probably out until end of the season, Bendtner...ermm he can play for FA cup but I really concerned about our striker even before at the start of the season but look like we still doing good and winning games but I know why you concerned about the CB, we just have to wait and see its all depend on AW.

scoring 1 goal and keeping a clean sheet is far more important.

that 1 goal could come from anyone.

but that clean sheet depends primarily on the CB 1st, then the rest of the team.

yep. i think we're ok within the striking department. With Bendtner coming back soon, Vela already back and Dudu finding his touch, i don't see why we need to add to this. We should go ahead and give our reserves some chances. that's the AW way.

chelsea was quiet because ancelotti.he said he will go around naked if he do spend on january.

with song gone and denilson injured, our midfield will be like this:
nasri-diaby-ramsey

too offensive,don't you think?

Diaby - I'll talk to Wenger about Song role

By Nick Teale

Abou Diaby says he will speak to Arsène Wenger about taking on Alex Song's role while the 22-year-old is away at the Africa Cup of Nations.

The Frenchman has recently signed a new long-term contract with Arsenal and has been touted as a possible replacement for Song in the defensive-midfield role.

The Cameroon international has made the position his own this season and no other player has featured in more Gunners games than he has.

Diaby is one of a number of players who has been linked with taking on the role in Song's absence and, speaking after the 2-1 FA Cup victory over West Ham United on Sunday afternoon, the Frenchman said he would be happy to help out.

"I will talk about that with the manager and if he wants me to play in that position, I am happy to do it," he said. "We will see what happens.

"Alex is a very important player in our team. Because he is going, we have to replace him and make sure we do the same job without him."

I rather not hoping to see him taking song role.
I don't want to see he become back the old Diaby who forgot to track back opponents and being too offensively and forgot his DM duty.

Just put him as where he was now and i rather let denilson or even merida to take up that role

hmm..u must have missed a number of matches..
Coming back from injuiry, Diaby has been fantastic in terms of both offensive and defensive but it's the former that he's more better at..
He might not be as good as Song while defending but rite now he's da toughest CM we have at the moment.. thumbup.gif
Denilson is quite decent but he's too easily brush aside by bigger opponents while Merida is yet ready for BPL as what we can see during da match against WH.
