no quote whatsoever in that article. typical transfer rumour crap

however, if Fran did not feature in the 1st team at all after this that will be the clear indicator that he is off on the summer. and as of now, i do not think it is much of a loss for us

yep. i think Merida and Wilshere are the 2 players that needed more guidance from AW. for Merida to go, i think it'll be his mistake. For wilshere, as AW said, he'll wait til end of January before making the decision to go ahead and loan jack elsewhere.

Merida got some qualities but he has fail to impress. agreed with u guys if he did sign to go elsewhere, then adios... good luck to him.

more pressing matter is getting Gallas to sign extension.

It's really shocking to find out that Merida is quitting Arsenal (if it is true)

Another Bentley in the making? I'm not sure.

Seriously, I do not see Merida playing much. I don't even know what his best position is although I know he's a midfielder. He hasn't show any impact yet, but overall, he's a good player - in general.

With Ramsey (who was brought in later than Merida) ahead him, it must be difficult for him to impress. Choosing to quit is not a bad move, at least to him in short term. All the best to him (if this is true)

Talking about youngsters, I am surprised that not many are shooting at Wilshere's last match performance. sweat.gif I know he's young and so but those unfriendly long back passes were just too awful to my liking... even if it's from a teenager like our little Jacky.

i tot MU game is on supersport? sweat.gif as PL is on ESPN & Starsport

don't regard merida as bentley. yes preseverance is crucial. but when you have 4 midfielder ahead and the oldest is 24 years old (minus rosicky), that is kinda hard to stay.

Here's what his agent said

QUOTE
Merida's agent Joseba Diaz said: "It is not a question about money but it is because he wants to play. He is very grateful to Wenger and Arsenal but wants to build a career in Spain."

arsenal.com hasn't confirmed anything regarding Franny, but if it's true that he's leaving than all I can say is good luck and may he not get Bentleyitis.

There's no denying that his performance vs Hammers are somewhat disappointing, but that shouldn't be the main reason for leaving. Song was horrible in his debut and was quite rubbish in his early days until last year where things turned around and voila, he's now first choice and indispensable. Maybe the abundance of young players fighting for the CM spot smothered his motivation, especially when newcomer Rambo is starting ahead of him. If anything, he should learn from Rambo as the latter also had some sloppy games with us last season before truly showing his consistency in recent games.

There's no way Franny's going to squeeze into AM's first team as he couldn't even make it regularly to our bench. Nevertheless, if it's what he want then all the best for the lad, and may he become an Atletico legend one day.

i think it is fair for merida to leave...he is too far the packing order and he is already 19 and soon 20...he need to be playing a lot....we got too much talent in his position cesc,ramsey,lansbury....and sometimes i even forget that cesc is just 22...we dont have to worry about this....we are spoil with young talent...merida will be a big name soon...but too bad it is not with us...

Added on January 5, 2010, 7:44 pmall the best to him.....

As for Merida case it's not really a surprise, Fabregas set the standard really high for Arsenal's young players. Now it seem like they are expecting themselves to break into the 1st team at 18 or 19 and be in the starting eleven at 20 or 21. Maybe they don't realize Fab is a special case, someone like him only appear once in an era. Anyway if Merida is really going I hope it'll be for good ... for us and for him.

ya this is especially true for english football
in italy it's still normal that players debut as late as around 21-22?

I notice it. Many things doenst work well for him dat night. He had lots of dribbles, lots of flair, lots of skill which many of them end up unproductive and losing the ball to opponent. If he had got a bit of luck on his side, he might assist and scored a few but luck doesn't comes easily we knew dat.

However, I wont be complaining because he needs to gain his confidence and le boss is willing to give. CR7 first season in EPL isnt any better. His losing balls all the time but SAF gives him opportunity and keep playing him to gain his confidence. I love our creativity in passing and movement but we still need some1 with flair to penetrate the defence and cause havoc like what hleb used to do (aldou he cant shoot tongue.gif)

Hope he get more sub chances and keep improving. We saw the improvement in our Rambo ard. Hoho.
