Yours is PC13-Ultra, right? That would be a whole lot easier to move sweat.gif

Dunno where to chip this one in coz it is not hardware related but just wanna share that GOW3's LFE is pretty amazing! Check out for example the Athena's Wrath move, beats most of my BDs' AQ in LFE levels. Well, dun laugh, at least on my el cheapo system it does tongue.gif

Best thing is, unlike movies, you can 'run' the bass torture test over and over again till your heart contents (or bass gives) biggrin.gif

The best part is when the titan speak, you can feel the low bass shaking. The sound reinforce that titan is huge and had high volume of air.

I came across this today....not sure if it have been discussed here.

EMOTIVA ULTRA SUB (USD499)
Spec:
Power Output: 300 watts RMS, 500 watts peak

Typical In‐Room Frequency Response: 22Hz‐200Hz

Typical In‐Room SPL: 110‐113db

Nominal input sensitivity:
Balanced Input: 1V
Unbalanced Input: 500 mv.

Phase Adjustment: 0 - 180 degrees @50Hz

Low pass Crossover: 50-150Hz variable, 24db per octave

Dimensions: 14.5” wide x 14.5” high x 15.25” deep

Weight: 38 lbs.

Its a seal 12"sub and comes at a super low price too. Since Emotiva makes very decent product, I would think this is a good sub too....might give SVS a run for its money.

Guys, for a typical 18*14*10 room, I'm using a Wharfy SW20 and find it "weak". Is the room too big for a 10" sub to handle?

18' x 14' x 10' is considered as big room. I do not know how 'weak' is weak. However, yours is a mansion in the island itself. Could it be 18m x 14m x 10m like a theater hall? hmm.gif whistling.gif tongue.gif

Back to topic, did you try other location for the sub or do a sub crawl. You might be sitting in a null area. If it is not, then the 10" is 'weak' for your room. Errr... time for SVS? (have to promote a bit blush.gif )

Bro, as my whole setup is in my living room, I cannot put the sub freely as I want. It has to be in front next to the rack. sad.gif

When I say "weak", I am trying to say that I can't feel the solid punch, but it has no problem to rattle my plaster ceiling. It goes low and I can feel the rumble on my sofa although it is like 14 feet away (Audyssey measured a distance of 4.83 meters), just don't have that hit in the chest. Could this be a characteristic of a sealed enclosure? My previous sub was a ported 10" back in my apartment and of course a smaller room.

It could one of the reason as sealed sub does not move as much air as a ported sub. A good ported sub can easily hit low LFE with massive air pressure while you need to have a sealed sub with a lot much power and driver to do the same. But, sealed sub has better pace and tightness over ported, which is why it is better for music.

one of the good sealed sub that I have enjoyed is from PMC during AV Show when they were playing Kung Fu Panda...The pace and punch was surprisingly strong and definitely with good clarity and definition...You may try out in their showroom or visit their booth during the coming AV show.
