QUOTE(darkknight81 @ Sep 25 2011, 10:24 PM) Reits? Er.....personal view only ya. I try not to buy reits even though dividend looks good. But personally i feel not safe of putting my money into reits. Reasons behind: 1. Reits only invest in Malaysia which is expose to single country risk. 2. Property bubble due to low interest rates. Etc ... I know ytlp and ytlcorp dividend sux.... However, as long as the company growth are sustainable then shouldn't be any problem. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ But YTLP invested in both Asia (Malaysia, Indonesia, Australia) and Europe (England) & even jordan oil shale..etc. At the moment, I do not see any light in YTLP, reason I sold it also and I was in fact frustrated with the div slashed to 50%. Regarding property bubble, I think as long as the REIT is having a safe gearing, should be ok gua.

Bid for building new coal fire plant at indonesia 3. Wimax This one i am sceptical. But chances are there. ......................................................................................................................

There is no light (yet) for wireless BB across at least for near term. Ability to balance the book and with little cash drain, is already a big achievement. Chance to make profit? highly doubt so for near term or even a few year down the road.

However, if few years down the road Wimax might be a "Cash Cow" ?? But i do not put so much hope on that

I do not see any fundamental issue with YTLP at the moment, just to me, the div is too low already which force me to exit. And YES, like what Cherroy say, might not be profitable in near future and with the situation not looking too bright, I think I can find better investment elsewhere.

QUOTE(echoesian @ Oct 3 2011, 05:32 PM) Yeah I'm also curious... I'm holding quite a substantial of its shares ... No kidding I bought these share in 2008 for 1.70 ~ 1.92. During that time, YTLPWR was like a rock eventhrough the turbulent 2008 crisis. Today marks the first time it dip under 1.70 for me However, if go down any further, might be a opportunity to accumulate

KUALA LUMPUR: YTL Communications Sdn Bhd, a global frontrunner in mobile 4G, won the "Best New Service" award at the recent Global 2011 InfoVision Awards ceremony. It bagged the award at the prestigious event, for its innovative Yes 4G service, Malaysia's fastest mobile internet with voice. Another possibility could be elections getting close. YTLPOWR as the first IPP and with most lopsided contract usually gets singled out for a lot of criticism and Barisan bashing by opposition. Since Barisan is very scared and desperate, they might have to let YTLPOWR get some whacking . How they gonna do it , dont know. So looks like next few months might not be so good. At current divi rate, to earn about 6 to 7% returns, the price may have to go down to about RM 1.50 Quite difficult to judge the future of this counter, too many possibilities!!!
