Net profit increased but dividend getting lesser. I guess YTLP is saving up the cash for the YES expansion.. Oh well..

Outperfrom. It is definitely a good time to collect more. Getting near to it's 52 wee low price at 2.16. However, not only CIMB disappointed with the dividend, I was disappointed as well. Like you said, wait for YES to flourish. I will keep this stock for long term. Cheers thumbup.gif  thumbup.gif

out of curiousity, i saw there is increase in borrowing under current liabilities, which repayable in 1 year time

as at 31st Dec 2010 - RM2.1bil
as at 31st Mar 2010 - RM6.1bil

is it bond repayable in 1 year?

YTLPOwer no longer a safe haven dividend stock. But I buy this stock with a forecast that YES will do well for the coming future. Time well tell. Good luck to all of us the YTLPOWER holders.

This is how share market reflect a personality, a wise person might buy this stock at a low price to bet against its future, if it turn out favourable, he will rewarded with a good profit

Anybody know also know YES drain out lots of cash but actually they are making loss due to depreciation on telco infrastructure, only a handful people know accounting terms. So if u got knowledge on accounting, it is a upper hand for yourself before investing.

Good luck to u icon_rolleyes.gif

I believe the Yeoh family will expand their business when time is right

With the expected dividend.. 9.4 cent, the fair value of share should be worth about 1.90-2.00 only. Unless the dividend is increased, otherwise it will not likely to reach your price. Also YES is expected to lose money for the next 5-10 years. How long can you wait?  wink.gif
*
expected 9.4 cent? i expect consistent 0.1875 for each quarter, so sum out would be 0.75 cent

YTLP no light?

No right or wrong lol.

To me :

1. 8 Billion cash pile

2. Bid for building new coal fire plant at indonesia

3. Wimax
hmm.gif This one i am sceptical. But chances are there.

6bil have to repay for the loan, left with 2bil cash, with this quarter report, they could hold about 3bil cash

good luck guys.. would look on this counter...  wub.gif

there is another 3 factor which push the price lower

1)Lower dividend rate compare to last year
2)YES keep draining cash
3)IPP contract will be review by government

Yep looks likely dividend is going to stay at 7.5c total, until at least the YES breaks even... so lowest rate it can go is 1.50 based on 5% dividend. YES network is still starting up so this will be time the profit will take a beating, but it should be better onwards as revenue comes in and capex expenditures is reduced.

So far YTLPWR have spent around 300 million to set up the YES network and is expect to spend more. I wonder why they don;t just buy out Greenpacket, which is only worth ~500 million now. You get the subscribers, get rid of competition and all the infrastructure as they offer 4G as well....  hmm.gif. They should seriously consider that as a good bargain, rather than set up their own network.. and they have cash to do it (YTLPOWR currently holding ~7 billion in cash).
*
net worth is based on book value, in fact they have to pay premium for the shareholder if they opt to take over, maybe 1.3-1.4 times more

i believe the cash they holding, is for the Jordan power plant.

The ~500 million to take over Greenpacket.. is already at 2x book value.  laugh.gif With the political turmoil in Jordan (people want the president to quit)... I doubt the project will be ongoing... for now. Lucky not much has been invested in this joint venture.  sweat.gif

2x book value sweat.gif
