Latest Price drop and i think this classic series worth the $ , except one thing if it could have been reduced further to USD36.99 or something would have been fantastic :

Planet of the Apes 40th Anniversary Collection (Planet of the Apes / Beneath the Planet of the Apes / Escape From / Conquest of / Battle for) [Blu-ray] (1968)

Here's an excerp from the highdefdigest review of 2012. Kinda mirrors htkaki's impression of the Asian version hmm.gif

QUOTE
The one slight limitation, which may or may not be observable by certain viewers, is an unconvincing low end, especially for such a loud popcorn flick. This is not to suggest that the bass is wanting or weak. As a matter of fact, it is quite accurate and at times particularly punchy and bombastic for those selected scenes of explosive eruptions. But there's something about the lower frequencies that never truly feels persuasive or all-encompassing. Many on-screen events, particularly the earthquakes sequences, appear to lack intensity and a realistic force which ideally should extend far into the room, yet they don't. Again, many may not think this a major impediment, but for those who love their bass, it's a bit of a letdown. If we simply ignore this one small nitpick, this lossless mix is pure reference quality, and one that will surely be used to demo the sound system.

I don't know whether it's a fair comparison
I just tried the BDISO version
seems true that there's seriously a lack of LFE on certain explosive scenes

Anyway, I'll still try on the US version 2012 BD when I get it next week

Bro, I guess it would be the same. The Yellowstone volcano eruption is one of the letdown. The flying earths/rocks hitting the ground sounds like 'toufo' hitting the ground.

Even the tidal waves, I mean mega tsunamis aint convincing. If watch this on HTiB, sure 'potong stim' habis.
