I see, how is the bass / sub woofer control? All nicely setup?

How is your 'lack of bass'? Nearly hear? Too soft?

The bass on most built-in soundcards are crappy. XD

Try to get a SB Live 5.1 at least, and the speakers can show their true power easily.

Btw, the R501's bass would be optimum at around level 7-9. It's just how they are designed. biggrin.gif

SW lv at 7-8, increase bass to 50-60% then you see if the bass is too heavy..?

ur intel build in sound card more geng than sblive?! O.o
which motherboard u using? mind to tell me? actually motherboard build in sound quality is depend on the motherboard manufacturer, not the chipset manufacturer. anyway, ur build in sound card play well with ADA885 but doesn't means will play well with R501 because some powerful speaker is need a strong sound card to pump its sound up, then it will giv u a surprise result. for example a sony 7500watt hi-fi put in a motherboard build in sound card then u will discover its bass really weak. but if a cheap ATP3 put in a build in sound card i think u cant differentiate the result obviously compare to put in a creative sound card. i suggest u can borrow a audigy frm fren and test to see, if the bass still weak for u then mayb ADA885's bass really greater than R501 and u already used to it. actually ADA885 really is very nice, i hav listen its sound b4, the bass is damn great. btw, R501 i never try it seriously so i am not dare to giv any comment. smile.gif

glad all worked out well, man. biggrin.gif

the R501's sub control mostly gets turned on and ready to rumble when set at volumes of 7-10. biggrin.gif

this is unlike other speakers like Altec Lansing, where a lil increase in sub volume will give overloaded bass. sweat.gif
