Sure there is a 'puk' even you turn it off via remote control (volume fade out slowly) then you press the on/off switch behind the subwoofer.

I just bought r501mkII through direct com last week. The sats were good but the sub was booming. However it is more powerful than my old altec vs-4121. (This is my 3rd edifier after r201 and r401)
I was having the same output problem and later found out that one of the colour coded cables doesn't match with my sound card's color coded input. I'm using soundblaster 5.1 live and my connection are as follows

1. Green cable from green input (sub) to green output (sound card)
2. Black cable from orange input (sub) to orange output (sound card)
3. Orange cable from black input (sub) to black output (sound card)

Hope that helps wink.gif

Use #m tape or if the stand have a mounting on the back then its better, as in my mind, IKEA stands only have base, so you need 3M double sided tape help smile.gif
