Can we use existing cable with new decoder? I mean cable from Dish to Decoder?

I think they will not increase on RM20 for HD, for more channel, you need to subscribe more standard definition channel package, right now only sports+learning+movie have simulcast HD channels.

New dish, new cable and new decoder for HD reception. existing cable tak boleh pakai lagi.

depends on the RF cable specs installed right? (I wonder the new one use what requirement)

Hopefully my splitter can be use with new cable. Hehehe

hopefully they wont increase the price later and tell us they need more money to maintenance because of HD channels provided...

To avoid any problem for HD reception, astro requires all installer to replace a new cable. Otherwise it will be no deal. I believe the new cable would be a much better quality then the previous cable supplied by astro. It should be still the same RG6 cable but better quality for sure.

yess.. astro has called me, said that will get it installed within 10 working days =)

even me,
i sent a mail to ask them some question on Sunday's midnight,
they called me on yesterday to answer my question,
and today i got their call for telling me the t & c.

this is the only time i felt they are quite efficiency..

no more splitting? So astro will give out 2 dishes for those with 2 decoders+1 dish? cool this is even better

the interesting part is the normal SD channel oso come with so-called HD reso.. with the side black bar that is.. why dun they just leave it in it's normal SD reso, so that can stretch using TV function.. :sigh:

if i'm not mistaken, some forumer here said that SD channel can be stretch to fill the tv screen... but need to "play" with decoder settings...

Waiting for Astro representative to call me today as they promise last saturday...but...until now, still waiting...Guess their calling list is too long to be completed by today...

720p HD = 1280×720
576i SD = 720×576
eventhough your HDTV can upscale 576i signal, some details will be missing

actually both SD and HD channels will be simulcast.
