QUOTE(minimize @ Dec 18 2009, 08:29 PM) Maybe it depend on installer availability. So high subcriber on klang valley and it will take time. But Astro said 10 days from the confirmation date, including Saturday and Sunday~ They call me last Wednesday, so suppose they will install it for me by late on next Friday, 25th Dec~ Really hope can enjoy HD before that~Most installer dont work on weekend. |

QUOTE(low98944 @ Dec 19 2009, 03:19 PM) So, I think the easier way for condo to upgrade to Astro B.yond is to install a standalone dish. I think this method is easier than persuade everyone in the same condo to upgrade all together. Alternatively, force Astro to come out new dish that can be used by both normal Astro and Astro B.yond. But the problem is that most condo management does not allow resident to install their own dish..need to use centralize dish.. |

QUOTE(qwerty79 @ Dec 25 2009, 08:03 PM) Installerr just came to my house yesterday. I already register online last week but after I didn't receive any call, I call Astro customer service for registration on 21st Dec (Monday) evening (18:45). The next day, they call me for confirmation(10:00). On Wednesday morning Installer called me to set time and at 5 pm as promised, they come and installed. 5 hours later, the card activated. So, they only take 4 days from registration, installed and activated. I think for those who registered online, better call them for confirmation. See...you registered later than me already got Byond installed..Astro cannot keep their word, first come, first serve..Anyway, enjoy ur Byond .. As explain by customer service and also in T&C, they asked me my old stb, remote, and satelite dish. What shocked me, they also want the rca audio and video cable. I lost the yellow video cable because previously I used s-video. So they give me a hard time bcoz I need to find another yellow cable as replacement. Luckily I have my old cable (don't know from which equipment). I also ask them to change my satelite cable although it quite new (2-3 years, I think...) The 20m long cable is free of charge, so better change if not, rugi lor. For picture quality, I hook up to my 32" lcd tv using hdmi cable and for hd channel, the picture are so clear with 720p setting but not 1080i (my lcd only hd ready I still not familiar with the new interface and sadly to say I hate the Ok menu. Last time it just simple small menu and faster to navigate, but now it cover almost quater of my lcd screen. When I click Info, additional box appear to hide another part of the screen. Really hate the new interface. p/s: They want the cable also? Haiyoo...where did I put the cable ar... |

Finally got my Byond.. After waiting more than 2 weeks..AT first got problem with the decoder. When on the decoder, the screen blank. No picture. Then let it on standby mode for around 30 minutes, then the decoder auto update the firmware. Walla, Astro Byond work well. Audio for SD and HD channel is quite same. Not facing any decrease in sound when change from HD to SD..
Connect thru HDMI port.. The controller on the other hand, work well with my Philip LCD. I guess the controller auto detect my TV. Not doing any setting for the remote... This post has been edited by sil3ntHunt3r: Dec 29 2009, 07:50 PM |
