*UPDATE*
I have been informed that in just a few days the E11 V3 will be available with an XP-G R5. Those who already own a CUBE will like the news that an upgrade pill will be available to convert previous CUBE versions to the XP-G emitter.

LJ - the Tri Maglite is floody right?

I forgot how the beam looks like but it should be the same as the one in CPF. Floody but very bright.

So many lights...Wahh..selalu blackout ke tongue.gif....just kidding, why are some of them 2 of the same model or are they different spec?

for the bar light, usually i use the nitecore headband wrapped around the p100a2, but the Cube is smooth, so cant really use that. got some old punctured tubes hanging around in my store, so just took some and cut it up, voila! a light mount that costs literally rm0! laugh.gif

the p100a2 on the helm usually i use zip ties, but i've ran out of it, so i use rafflia string, which my house have loads, instead laugh.gif

works pretty well though. the Cube did not change position during the ride, same goes to the helmet light laugh.gif

those were done pretty last minute, there was a ride at 9pm and was informed at 8pm lol.

Mean while at the evil Metalmania's Lab..... brows.gif

The Famous MgLumen...

...
What else, LED heat sink can be made to fit, just slightly off, opening is 19mm, with a little drilling i should get the Maglite smooth reflector in, but i lost my step drill bit so that will have to wait. Hacked it now its also the same height...i want to try to do some throwing...
...
Just want to ask you guys...is this seni oren or oren peel? this flash has a little bit to much flood...i will also confirm this tonight. Brand new light still want to mod..i say sometimes i do things even i cant explain why  sad.gif
Yo professor Metalmania, i caution about replacing the aluminum reflector with a plastic reflector. The aluminum reflector may contribute to thermal pathway and heat dissipation to the head. The plastic can take the heat but may not be a good thermal pathway, something to think about?

Regarding reflector types, it's just called OP (orange peel) or SMO (smooth), how it throws will be depended on the reflector design and how the LED is placed. A general rule but not necessarily has to be is, the closer you bring the LED to the lens, the floodier it is or the shorter the reflector, the floodier. The deeper the LED is, the more throw you get, also depended on design.

i say..why lah you have to say out loud at this time..now i cant sleep... biggrin.gif

pseudoblue

I shall keep that in mind...i just want to test, it seem smooth reflector project rather watery flood like wavy kinda look, not even wall of light, i think its difficult to obtain a perfect surface when manufacturing...OP kinda disguise the flaw a little..

Yeah, that is why I got 2 big lights from DX instead (1 xenon and 1 SSC P7)

BTW, the SSC P7 worked great in the KD Trail tracking, I used in high mode most of the time, a bit warm but working great, very bright and floody. Good for this kind of trail. And 2 old notebook's 18650s and gives you very good runtime. I only used about 500-600mAH for the trail, so guess I have only used 1/4 of the runtime (Half mid and half high mode)
