You're partly right. Have a closer look at the black small fella on the right smile.gif
Hrmm, er, is it a quad-die? warm? biggrin.gif

QUOTE(susuman @ Jan 15 2010, 10:50 AM)
Yeah, that is why I got 2 big lights from DX instead (1 xenon and 1 SSC P7)

BTW, the SSC P7 worked great in the KD Trail tracking, I used in high mode most of the time, a bit warm but working great, very bright and floody. Good for this kind of trail. And 2 old notebook's 18650s and gives you very good runtime. I only used about 500-600mAH for the trail, so guess I have only used 1/4 of the runtime (Half mid and half high  mode)

drool.gif
Haha, the Aurora right. The trail was about 75 mins. So guess estimate on 80% usage of the time, seems like some good efficiency there smile.gif Quite good for its price, almost equivalent to a Preon Kit laugh.gif

Well, just to share. Didn't expect my TK40 to arrive timely for the gathering. Dannie called in the morning and ask me to bring 8 AAs and I thought he needed it. Then later told me my TK40 arrived! Its output performance is back in action yea! Fully charged Imedions was about 1.36v plus minus. Voltage reading the next day 1.295 brows.gif I used the TK40 throughout the trail on high only, and turbo for beamshots comparison. The only time it ran on low/med was in between switching modes. Good efficiency too and I luv the flood it gives biggrin.gif

Fenix didn't bother cleaning the threads for me and re-lube, but it's okay I rather did it myself. It took abt 2 hours to clean everything, even opening the tailcap switch and made sure everything is cleaned and fit accurately. Re-lube o-rings with Krytox GPL203 and DeoxIT Gold on the threads, and I think it's the perfect combo. Threads feel sooo smooth now, the Krytox has a firm and yet smoother feel than the CRC dielectric grease I used.

Btw, susuman, what you used to check the mAH on the batts?

I have a li-ion charger (which meant for RC car) that records the mAH that go into the battery, from there I read how many mAH it uses, provided the battery was full before use.

(Some ppl I know uses a discharger to discharge the battery to the lowest threshold, at the same time the discharger records the mAH, then charge it to the Max and do the math to get mAH consumption)

KISS:
Its like you fill the car full tank, then reach a place, fill it again to gauge how much fuel consumption. tongue.gif

I use "GT Power V5 Balance Charger for Li-ion /Polymer Ni-MH /Ni-Cd Lead Acid Battery"
http://www.uxsight.com/product/25656/power...id-battery.html

Bought it from http://www.tpracing.com.my/main.htm

But it doesn't comes with battery holder, but can easily build one using florescent tube holder, it you need will try snap a photo of the self built 18650 + 16340 charger deck. tongue.gif

ps: one good thing about this charge is it charges almost anything. Lead Acid, NiCd, NiMh, Li-on, LiPo, lithium balance charge. I charge NiMH 8 cells in serial also can, haha. Need a power supply though, and you can also use car battery if needed (good for 4x4 into forest?).

Yea, the threads were so dirty and black. O-rings were very dry and greyish colored. They removed the head and resolder a new MCE LED, then glue back the head. Can see some excessive glue protruding at the base of the fins.

About the tint, I'm not sure you've already noticed, but the MCE cool white used in the TK30/40 is abit warmer, not the greenish effect and I like it. The Quark XPE, Preon XPG, XRE-R2s are much cooler in comparison.

No need PM lar, haha, I bought I think RM200 - RM250 , forgot the exact amount. But the GT V5 no more stock,I think they have an upgraded version.

the charger comes with a temperature sensor, you can set what temperature to cut, good for NiMH or NiCad, and you program the charge capacity cut out as well as timer, whichever comes 1st to trigger the cut out. biggrin.gif

The big lights are really getting to me especially after seeing MrGmans youtube videos on the outdoor comparisons.
1700 vs 600 lumens is a BIG difference.

Some outdoor comparisons
