One SA quote me RM4207 for M11x (RM3499) with SU7300 + 4GB ram + 3yrs complete coverage upgrade.

And i notice the nameplate actually available inside the quotation. 3RW71 - Alienware Generic Nameplate. That meant no custom engraving, which is pointless
*
RM4207 is around 5% discount of the original price? yeah was hoping there was an option for custom engraving too. but Dell SG do not have the option either.

QUOTE(Eugene91 @ Feb 4 2010, 10:20 AM)
Maybe next time i shud ask.. RM3999 specs anymore discounts? and is it possible to have 3 Years CC for free? biggrin.gif
*
guess the discount is fixed for now probably until some promo like a month or two away. wink.gif

btw how many of you went for Cosmic Black and Lunar Silver?

They stack it up and can get
SU7300

500GB 7200rpm

@USD8XX ......

*
well it's the States! biggrin.gif but still, i wonder does local Malaysia Dell employees eligible for such discount. the last i heard is they're only able to get refurbished systems at a very low price. not sure about new systems.

UPDATE:

The 3D performance of the GT335M should be somewhere between the GT 240M and the GTS 250M (with DDR3).

btw eugene, found any GT335m benchmarks? no luck so far for me.

QUOTE(Michaelbyz23 @ Feb 4 2010, 01:40 PM)
can anyone introduce me SA pls.. i wanna buy mx11 with specs of:
intel core 2 duo upgrade
4gb ram
500gb hard disk.

how much can that be?
*
those specs with:
1 year complete cover: RM38xx (original price RM3999)
3 years complete cover: RM42xx (original price RM4472)

just try to call Dell Sales at 1-800-88-0301 and speak to any SA and nego. it's either cash discounts (not more than 5%) or free gifts (mouse/backpack). that's what i've been told. smile.gif

yealo.. tats y =.= if wanna remove the whole cover, i scare might void off the warranty seal.

so how? i don wanna spoil the battery too soon after i bought it.
last time i nvr plug off my battery even using ac mode, after 2 months of usage, the battery rosak edi. can only last 40 minutes. after about 6 months, it only last 30 minutes =.=

does this kind of thing gonna happen to the mx11?
*
IMO, if AW can build the battery into the chasis, they would have made it in such a way that it will be able to withstand heat, frequent charge/discharge and not to worn out so soon.

QUOTE(quest_5692 @ Feb 4 2010, 02:48 PM)
there is a switch off battery button during AC-ing...
fn+f2 iirc

that's been confirmed? if yes, then it's great! first for AW? rclxms.gif

QUOTE(four_add @ Feb 4 2010, 03:52 PM)
from previous post, M11x will arrive this late February even if order by now..

so lets say I order in March in which they already have the stock, how long will it take to deliver the netbook on normal basis delivery time? a week is it?

looks like I have to sell my current gaming netbook (Mini 311) tongue.gif
*
well, it depends. BTO systems normal takes longer time to ship. parts shortages is a common issue faced by Dell. delivery might be delayed due to that.

normally, Dell orders will take min. 8 business days/approx. 2 weeks to ship. sometimes it might take lesser time than that.

you may ask the SA about the delivery time before you place your order anyway. as of now, all M11x orders are taking up to 3 weeks to deliver. smile.gif

btw guys, it seems like there's no more option for Lunar Shadow Grey anymore on the order page, both RM3499 and RM3999 specs. probably demand for silver is too high? hmm.gif

Funny... I thought the colors would always be there? Hmmm.... seems like the m11x is really selling like hotcakes. As it is there is more than double M15x owners over M17x owners, I think the M11x owners will triple or quad the number of M15x owners tongue.gif...
*
just checked Dell SG and they do not have the option anymore as well. probably affect those in Asia Pacific only. anyway, will that makes the silver one sorta limited edition? should have went for silver! doh.gif

@eugene:
rubbery-feel cover, similar to M17's. no more fingerprints!

the waiting game wont end if you always want the best. now u wait for rubber coating (lets say its april) den by that time AW rep will say there will be an official refresh for i5/i7 ulv in 2 months. when theres i5/i7, there will be m13x......and the waiting game wont end......
*
well said, mate. the point is, get it when you need it. smile.gif

QUOTE(Eugene91 @ Feb 5 2010, 01:18 PM)
ya.. LoL thats what i thought. too Maybe Lunar Shadow Gray wont look too glossy?.. hmm even the Cosmic Black doesnt look really glossy lol..

The colour option is back and theres a 256GB SSD Option Available also.. lol
*
the silver did looked less glossy, and should be less visible to fingerprints and scratches. more fingerprints on the black but still, it looked less glossy and the others the say, glossy Inspiron and Vostro lineup.

but seriously, rubber surface is just soooooo nice! wished i don't need a laptop that soon.

the color option is still unavailable half an hour ago. lol

an excerpt from Dell Customer Care:

QUOTE
As for the Alienware, the sale person just replied to me and say payment just been approved, should be able to flip to production for build next two days. I will update you status next Monday and Tuesday then.

The M11X in black will show some fingerprints, but no where near as bad as a glossy HP model or similar does.

The material is same as the M15X.

Today i went to talk to dell online chat with other name tongue.gif

The SA.. says 2-3weeks.. smile.gif

Which I kinda doubt.. Since the rest of the world are getting it March 3 and above.....
*
normally Dell would deliver much earlier than the stated EDD (1 week-1.5 weeks earlier normally). happened to my recent order as well. that is why it's stated as estimated delivery date. March is more like a 'safe' date, instead of promising customers a date in Feb but was unable to fulfill that due to part shortages or other unforeseen circumstances and ended up being screwed. tongue.gif

however, given the fact that CNY is around the corner and the production might not be running in full steam (assuming all units are built in China), units should be delivered in early March. although i do hope i would be able to get my unit by end of Feb (requested for 19th). smile.gif

some UK/Ireland orders seem to have EDD of 12/13th Feb though, while US ones are getting the early March EDD. rolleyes.gif
