Guys: another noob question, once I get to a shop or store.. what must I ask, find out? eg: warranty, freebies, bundle.. and find out as to not act stupid in the store? What must I be careful of when shop owners say something? I want to not be influenced by the shop owner into getting certain things and have the best deal at the same time..

Please include some accessories I should ask too.. that you have asked or wish you had during ur camera purchase.. Thanx in advance..

Most likely you'll get "victimized" to get stuff that you don't really need/want due to seller's overpowering influence tongue.gif

And really, accessories are the LAST thing you should worry about rolleyes.gif which is what Sellers are SO KEEN to sell to you. Do you know shops make much more money from selling accessories than cameras? brows.gif

Anyway, get a knowledgeable friend to go with you smile.gif

can u comment a bit on the kit len, as the body price different, i can only have the 18-105 if i take D7000, is it a good lens and worth to spend compare to 60D's 18-200. i am thinking to hold only one lens for travel and no plan to change len during the whole trip.

thanks in advance.
*
well, honestly saying, i dont know much about nikon lenses. so i will not compare the 18-200canon n 18-105nikon. (if not the pros will bash me for this lol). but just to state my opinion, i prefer the 18-200 either canon or nikon over the 18-105 simply bcuz its a great allrounder lens. i mean, for one, u can take a wide angle pic with 18mm, n suddenly u spotted something far away and u can simply zoom to capture it. and to be frank, i had the kitlens (18-55) and my zoom lens (55-250) and it was great. but i traded it for the 18-200 simply bcuz its more convenient. i dont have to change the lens while travelling. so if i were u, i would go for the 18-200. nikon got this specific zoom kit as well smile.gif

Thanks so much for the reply.

May I know why is 60D better than D90? would like to know the differences? I heard D90 has a better grip.
*
ur welcome. err i cant answer this one since i havent got a hold of the 60D yet. well roughly, the 60D's capabilities on movie modes are better than the D90, and the swivel LCD, higher ISO setting, 18mp sensor, wut else? err..and not to forget, the 60D is new-er. and the D90 is first introduced in 2008. but mind u, the one's that bought D90 back then in 2008, have no regrets until today(atleast that's wut i heard). and maybe that's why the price is still quite steep i suppose. smile.gif

Looking for a PnS camera that can record video until the memory runs out. I own a Sony Cybershot DSC- T300. Its a little old I know, but unfortunately that camera can only take 10 minutes movie at a time. Need to start the recording again and again after it reach the 10 minutes mark. I understand that PnS camera nowadays can even record in full HD. Does Sony makes the Cybershot model shot more then 10 minutes mark nowadays?

Well, research time and time again before you decide to buy anything from any shop.
And bring a pal. Just in case to prevent you from being tricked into overspending lol.

Set your mind on a target, go in, and walk out with one biggrin.gif

Hi guys, its me again...

I've been pondering over the D3100 and the D5000... But I've came to a decision to get a camera with an in built AF motor... So, a D7000 might do the trick...

Does the D7000 cost a bomb, cuz i'm not going to throw lots of money on the body itself, as friends told me to invest on lens cuz it already cost grands

D7000 is 4.5k with kit lens..

D90 is around 3.3k instead. if you are big with budget, i think d7000 is fine. If not, take D90 as its a semi pro and it works wonders biggrin.gif]

Invest on lens when you are good, not when you are starting DSLR XD

Learn with kit, 50mm prime and when you are good, you go up a notch and get more exp lens, flash n etc XD

Your Location: KL/PJ
Preferable brand : Nikon
Type of photography u want to do : Portraits (Seldom), Landscapes (Lovely), Macro (Yes, especially insects, birds, flowers etc)

thanks... But Sony's SLT-A33Y (A33 + SAL1855 all-purpose lens and SAL55200-2 telephoto zoom lens) both discontinued lenses for RM 2,799. Which means an additional RM400 for 2 lenses... Does it worth the extra money???

Erm, I think you can get lesser if you try bargain harder. Coz i got 2.1k for kit nia. So, take 55-200, around 2.5k lol.

Anyway, if you dun want 55-200, You can get a beercan at a very good price of 7xx. it works awesome too, only poor CA >">

I'd like something smaller than dslr (lighter to carry around) but able to capture very good quality photos. I am currently using a very simple nikon digital cam for closeup purpose, it served me well but it's giving way. Don't know much about photography but very interested in it. Could someone please advise?

Nex 3 is a good option since you state it in your budget already. XD
