i jz want to ask, shud i get the se satio or the sony cybershot t-90?both hv 12 megapxel cams, and i wouldnt mind getting an extra phone, but to all cam sifus here, what do u think
?
*
dudeeeee... camera is not about megapixels as marketing brochures will tell u

even SE Satio's 12 megapixel cant beat my old 3megapixel canon IXUS. no way

if u want a camera, get the T90. the size of a phone makes it physically impossible for a cameraphone to match any dedicated camera. the lens and sensor is too small. megapixel is just marketing

u can get a Nikon D5000 with kit lens. or a D3000 with kit lens plus either an extra lens (35mm f/1.8G for low light, or 55-200mm for long distance) or flashgun (e.g. SB600)

an APSC format DSLR(entry and mid range level- not full frame) has cropped factor...thats mean if u bought a 18-200mm, u will get 18(*1.5)-200(*1.5)= 27-300mm...if canon will need to times 1.6...nikon andn sony times 1.5...

compare to FZ35 u get 27-486mm...
therefore FZ35 has the same wide and more zoom compare to a 18-200mm lens...biggrin.gif
i think FZ35 is more than enough for ur case...smile.gif

den is good for landscape and for flower(i love snapshots wherever i am.)?

Type of camera/lens/accesories :  2nd Digital Camera mainly for point and shoot/Underwater Photography
Budget: 2.5K including underwater casing
Your Location:   Kuala Lumpur
Preferable brand :  Canon (previous cam is A710is with u/w casing), Panasonic, Any recommendation?
Type of photography u want to do :  Simple pictures (on the go) and more to underwater pictures
Any specific models in mind? :  Please recommend
Any specific features u want? :  Aperture/Shutter/ISO changeable and u/w casing available
.
I'm not really a high end photograper but do diving a lot. hope the sifu's can assist...I've checked the new Canon Powershot (u/w camera) however it can only go to 10m and dosen't have a u/w casing....uhuhuhuhuh......so Panasonic is might be the better choice. Unless I go for older Canon models.....
.

maybe u may need to side purchase an underwater casing sold separately...
i go canon website to check, IXUS 95 and IXUS 100 available with waterproof casing but it aint cheap brows.gif

consider panasonic lumix LX3. got manual control (pretty much everything u can change in DSLR u can change here too). excellent in low light as well. juz the zoom very short, might not be suitable for some people

that's my personal opinion lah. u still need the d5000 if u want video and live view though

however, if u can spend more in the future, a better body might be beneficial. for me i'd get a cheap body, then spend money on lenses until i need a better body for specific reasons, like higher FPS, video recording, etc

megapixel nevermind. 12 vs 10 isnt much difference. u can hardly notice it
