can anyone recommend which to take?

Panasonic GF-1 ------- Sony Nex5.....?
*
never try nex5 but sony nex looks sexy, GF1 for classical+modern design. i'm own gf1 and really satisfied with it,
dont want go big DSLR bcz i dont want go pro with this tongue.gif small and easy to keep even in holiday.

image quality really great and sharp, comparable side by side with nikon5000d and eos550d drool.gif

but u may see the price for GF1 might is higher and overprice than sony nex5 with pancake lens, other option is olympus elp-1, it produce great jpeg. image's and price more low among the others m43 class

Its a win... new firmware can use Sony SSM and SAM lense brows.gif

Can AF but did you read the luminous landscape article? It's SLOOOOW. AF that takes 3-4 sec to focus is not really so auto.

Point is.. NEX is really let down by available lenses and there's no real nice lens in the roadmap that keeps the slim form factor.

I got problem choosing dslr right now. budget is 2.5k to 4k. now got few candidates: Canon 50D, 60D, Nikon D90. Any recommendation? Mainly use for overall photography. I have decided to purchase tamron 17-50mm without VC.

Should i get Nikon D5000 or Canon 550D for first timer? Just came back from a camera shop and the seller was recommending me 550D. A lot bought d5000 and after a few months they sell it off and upgrade. And i tried D90 and 550D and felt 550D was much clearer? Having doubts on getting D5000 or 550D. Help?

550D's real competitor is the D90., of course it beats D5000.

Just buy what you feel good about. No point forcing yourself to get something you don't like just because what others have told u nod.gif

Let's just wait for new E-mount lenses coming out next year!!

Yea I agree, adding any adaptors + other lens totally destroy the slim form factor..

I still dun understand how can they sell 18200 E-mount for rm2k++ though... E-mount is not any better than A-mount ><

It also doesn't look like there's anything remotely "slim" for the next year

Dear friends, i am going to KL next month. Planning of getting a Canon 550D, any shop recommended? Cheaper price, and freebies (hoping to get bag + Memory card + tripod). Aiming for nikon D3100 if it is out by that time. I am from Miri, so far DSLR i saw here still expensive.

The seller said the Nikon will provide sharper image. And the Canon 50D will give u faster focusing.

Nikon doesn't provide sharper image, maybe the seller referring to AF accuracy. Hence he concluded AF accurate = sharper. However, it still depend on your lens, and skills. biggrin.gif If your handshake easily, fails you too. smile.gif Go for what you like.

50D and 60D not really the same anymore. Yes 60D is a replacement for 50D, but 60D do not have the Micro AF Adjustment and magnesium alloy body. If you do not need a video recording feature, I will recommend 50D. No comment for Nikon D90. laugh.gif

Depends on urself actually 550D of coz its clearer... coz the screen size and the resolution is bigger... but if u watch closely as in pixel peep... den u can see that Nikon D90 beats 550D... and if u have larger hands den go for nikon D90 if u dont mind attaching batt grip to 550D den go ahead for 550D

Hey guys, need some suggestions.

I wanted to get Sony NEX-5 but I just Canon just recently launched G12.

I'm not that familiar with camera terminologies and I'm not sure which one should I get.

I want to use one of these cams first to gage my interest before I get my DSLR. Don't wanna waste my money buying an expensive cam to lose interest later on..

So which do you think is better for this purpose? NEX5? or G12?
