good day gentleman.

i have a question regarding filters.

i am setting up a small tank(1 feet tank) for crawfish/crayfish and i have a 400l/h hanging filter.

i am just wondering if the filter is enough the size of the tank.
the craw/crayfish is still a small one (less then 3 inch long).

in addition to the hanging filter i also have a bubble filter in the tank.

i am interested in having a living aquariums as seen in this thread but cray/crawfish are omnivores and will eat everything organic in the tank including fish and living plants.

id say if u wanna go for a planted tank its alot more difficult if u have crayfish around... it will uproot all ur plants and terrorize ur tank like Godzilla!

walau one whole nite talk abt people's age...LOL
@akagidemon- What is the dimension of your tank? What is the output of your bubble filter? If you can answer thiese questions I can calculate if your filter is sufficient.

Thanks

Good for you Adrian .. Do take pictures...

Ben, are you dosing co2 now?? Seems like you're getting more 'advanced ' plants. Hope you have the ability/patience/proper conditions to grow them.. Just worried you get too ambitious and crash n burn in the end

@adrain- wow from Penang drive all the way down to JB to visit LFS and go overseas too... agree with Andrew pls do take pics if they let.

@chuppy- Not yet start dosing co2. Those advanced plants without co2 do they die or grow slower?

@oldskull01- Most LFS can get RCS. I got mine from this forum the person sold me 50sen each... Normally the price will be RM2.50-RM3.50 each. I know Pudu's Alive Aquarium sells them and 88Marine in Pandan Indah also sell. I only noe these 2...

Oh forgot to ask few questions about co2:
After photoperiod do you guys put airstone or something so there is sufficient oxygen for the fishes and plants?
How do you stop DIY co2? I read if you just stop the flow it will explode...

Added on December 18, 2009, 12:17 pmAnd I rescaped a bit...AGAIN.. I move all the plants to the back... The foreground only has some short cabomba and Pearl Grass cuttings. And I removed all Java Fern plantlets from the mother leaves and attach them on my driftwood. There are about 5 of them.

Added on December 18, 2009, 12:21 pm@oldskull01- ALL plants need co2. I think you mean which plants that can do well without dosing co2.
