As promised, earlier today at noon, P1 technician came to check my problem. It's seems that my condo which is located on the 11th floor could not get the best reception. Only 5th floor and lower can get the best reception.

So I guess, last year reception was only my luck? From August until December 2009, I can get around 0.8Mbps-1.3Mbps. The best part is, after the technician left, up until now.. I cannot log on to the internet, AT ALL. The modem lights just keep blinking red and yellow, but no connection established.

Anyway, it's final. I'm going to cancel my subscription this Saturday. I see you guys on the other side. happy.gif

P/S: I'm surfing now via Maxis Broadband. This weekend, I'm gonna try UMobile.

So, they fully understood my report and today the technician told me to liaise with an officer (whom attending my case) to proceed with my termination request.

5 years ago, my mobile phone had faster internet using 2G - GPRS connection.

as you can see, the response times from my computer to the P1 Wimax Modem is fast, delay in miliseconds.

and the response times to the P1 Wimax access point is fine, delay in miliseconds and maintaining a 10MBps link.

but its all shit from there onwards, the packets are going through more than 30 hops in some cases.


My PC --> P1 Modem = fine

P1 Wimax Modem --> Nearest P1 Antenna / Router = fine

P1 connection to the internet = not fine

i called you guys several times.

same thing everytime, what color is the light on the modem ? try other dns server, restart your modem, dont move the modem.

P1 Wimax cons its customers.

Its what they do best.

In this situation you might need to hard reset your modem by pressing the small hole button next to your LAN port for 12sec.
To change USERNAME and PASSWORD for WIFI you can follow below step:

CHANGE USERNAME:

-login to modem page http://10.1.1.254 username:admin password:admin123
-NETWORKING-WIFI-NEXT-COMMON SETTING-SSID(change name)-APPLY

CHANGE PASSWORD

-login to modem page http://10.1.1.254 username:admin password:admin123
-NETWORKING-WIFI-USER DEFINED-NEXT-WEP KEY(change to 10 digits no)-APPLY

P1 technician called me today, after I followed his direction to leave it on the whole day... He called me at 2pm telling me he have remote into my modem, and found out that it wasn't tuned to the correct station.

He described it as base jumping, where my modem was picking up signals from more than 1 station, thus causing the inconsistency in speed.

So what he did was setting my frequency to lock to only that particular station, and ask me to test when I came back from office.

The speed now is awesome!! thanks P1! exactly the speed I had when I first subscribed! Hope this lasts.. biggrin.gif

i'm happy now... might continue use even after 2 years if no problem come back after this... biggrin.gif

P1 Wimax sucks for real. like.. 5000 MS ping to www.google.com.my wtf? thats 5 whole seconds. i did a ping -t www.google.com.my and it came out flooding 5000~8000 Ms pings with HELLA lot more request timed out than ping results.. wtf? I called them and like "we are still not sure what is causing this", "we will fix this asap", "we apologize for any incovenience caused, "we will call u when its fixed", "our techinicians are currently fixing it sir" Wow for real.. 500 BYTES/sec dl speed SO AWESOME WOWWWW ONLY 30 DAYS FOR a 2 GB FILE! WOW NOT BAD. =) Keep up the GOOD WORK.

my experience with my newly p1 wimax services is as follow.

first week, quite ok. the highest upload speed i got was only 172kbps and download speed is 60kbps. ( still slow considering i need to upload pictures to my websites and files to my officemates, and sometimes, i got 0kbps for uploads.)

second week, its started to getting on my nerves coz i couldnot even upload a 800kb picture to my facebook acct. its sure not the website problem, when i swith to tethering mode with my phone with another service provider, its excellent. so the line is crap starting to tick em off...

now. cannot even open the speedtest.net page. always get "problem loading page". google page also stuck. facebook takes forever to display, flickr dont mention it, cannot upload at all, and doing internet banking with my wimax connection is a problem, keep getting blank pages.

i'm not a gamer nor a file download junkie, just an internet surfer that needs an internet connection with good upload/download speed for works and social networking. i thought changing to wimax would give me a standard connection, but my old C broadband is even more reliable than wimax speed. i dont need 20gb bandwidth if i cant load a simple webpage properly. how can i achieve even 10gb if i cant even used the internet daily?

sorry i couldnt paste the speedtest.net result, coz i cant even open the page to do it. only through my phone i know the current speed.

now, p1wimax already start charging my 2nd month. i dont want to pay rm99 for a crap services. if the speed problem is not reselvod in following weeks, i'll terminate it. better tether through phones.

so plz do look into my case. if not, i'm going to terminate it and swith back to C or M.

I terminated my P1 W1MAX account about a week or 2 ago, before that the cust rep told me my last bill will be waived but I still got charged full amount.. what is going on?

Hi. I would like to inform you that my P1 service has not been performing as it usually would. This happen after a scheduled network maintenance in my area from 21 Oct 2010 to 23 Oct 2010. What I notice is that my modem is connected to a different base station, ID#00:00:12:a0:05:32. Whereas before the maintenance it would usually connect to 00:00:12:a0:05:11 or sometimes 00:00:12:a0:05:12. The frequency I'm getting now is 2375000, where normally it would be 2385000. Can you check for me and get back a.s.a.p. My account number is 101709830. Thanks. smile.gif

Hi P1, Thank you. The speed has been restored since last week but what are u going to do about the past few days of bad speed?
Your CS tech told me the Sentul station was malfunctioning but shouldnt you send out notices instead of keeping quiet? While I am highly appreciative of the fix , I am not impressed on how the whole outage was handled and timeframe you took to fix it. As bad as TMnet. U have been trying to call me but seriously.. I hv been busy whole week . Btw I have already send email reply to your careline last week on this. Up to you what you want to do. Reply if you care via email.
