You think TM is loved by the public now?

hey guys! accidentally passed by this thread yesterday and came to know streamyx have this promo!
for me i am very happy with this promo, so i'm thinking of upgrading it.

I'm a 512kbps user (rm66/month) for 5-6 years already. I can say that in terms of stability i'm quite satisfied, it seldom dc, but in terms of the speed it's really getting on my nerves. I remember 2years back i had bought rapidshare premium and managed to download things at 50kbps, which was the max speed i guess i can get. smooth gaming, youtube quite ok (wait approx 15mins then can watch a 10 minute video).

However things were a lot worse this year. My emule download never exceeds 15kbps, and i can thank god if my rapidshare can reach 10kbps..normally it will be like 6-7kbps..not to mention even with rapidshare premium my download gets terminated halfway frequently (operation to server terminated message). Youtube sometimes need to wait 2 hours for a 10min video, but sometimes may just need 5 minutes.
Darn I'm frustrated.

Do you guys think that upgrading my package to the 1mbps (RM71) will solve my problem, and I will be getting a 100-150kbps download speed by changing to 1mbps?
BTW, i would also like to know about this HSBB, will it be covering east malaysia by next year? (I live in Sabah)

HSBB only cover in lembah klang and wilayah iskandar, johor.... other places only up to 4Mbps only.... that the plan....try ask tm, ur place got or not 4Mbps

anyway the speed is for sure increase but direct download la...

Well For another RM 5, I think it is worth it, In the long run, they might be upgrading to Fibre Optics network, then we will benefiting from the improving quality in the future.

sad to say this , but u guys don't rely on streamyx too much . although p1max is shit , yet i hope some other broadband service can keep up the good work to push streamyx down . In that case we can have cheaper internet fee offer by telekom . however this promotion is another marketing strategy which i think very stupid . it hook u up to their services for a period of time . stupid strategy for stupid ppl . later on they come out wif another better " abit" strategy yet i think is useless till they upgrade their services and lower down their $ .

but i've been with streamyx all this while ah..the malaysian internet really

yea thanks for your fast replies, i think i will spend an extra rm5 per month and hopefully the speed is really 2 times faster. I just couldn't stand it, downloading a 100mb file takes around 10 hours! Simply ridiculous.

so i just need to call 100 and they'll upgrade for me in a few days time is it? No extra charges right?

I don't know how the other rm66 users get 50-60kbps download speeds (whether it is rs or torrent)..is it becoz tmnut pay more attention to west malaysia and neglected us?

I'm staying with 1Mbps as the upload speed is still 384kbps for 2Mbps package. I'm not interested with this promotion cause I still don't get what I pay for on my current package.

What would you pay more when they can't even handle smaller bandwidth package?

Some of us we are getting good speed like me i am paying 1mbps they giving me 80 -90% of 1mbps tats why i considering the upgrade.
Imagine i download a file 1mbps takes 4 hrs with 2mbps it should be 2 hrs right?

TMnet just installed HSBB area network cabinet near my house. I don't think I want to upgrade because there is a new 24 months contract period. Recently Maxis is offering FREE upgrade from 1mb to 2mb without price increase and contract.

upgraded and very happy to hear from TMNUT that it's nothing wrong if you are getting 80% of the said speed.. upgraded from 1MB to 2MB but only getting 1.7MB..

this plan oni worth for 512 to 1M user... the rest are quite a waste... 1mb is enough for any moderate to heavy user (unless u're download maniac with 1TB per month) =P

1mbps can pull 10GB a day so it's 250-300GB a month.

Aiyo, 24 mth contract? If 12mth can still be considered. 1mb is quite satisfied currently for me, better just stick to my current plan.

The 24 month contract period is a joke. Within 24 months so many things can happen, not to mention 4Mbps could be a joke in 24 months' time.

Streamyx is still as useless as day 1

Call tech support i want convert to the new plan she said there no such plan currently. I tembak her she went and check with her supervisor then suddenly a new plan appeared WOW. She said i can change myself at

mips.tm.net.my and change myself so i go and try. It says i currently dont have any new plan to upgrade or downgrade i call again the stupid fellow said maybe system down i must try maybe at night or midnight. I tried all fail then the guy said if u want fast please go to the nearest TMPOINT. i told him i am working how da hell am i gonna go ? take a day or half leave because want upgrade plan?

Then i said can i ask someone else to go behalf of me NO only the IC holder of the streamyx acc can change. I already starting to get piss. FINE what' the opening hours like her response was MOnday to friday 8.30am to 5 or 6pm OMg tats my working hours then i tembak her which damn outlet open on saturday or sunday.
Then she said there few outlet tat open. FINEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE on saturday half day. So i decided since friday is a holiday i will go today on saturday. When i reach the centre there is a paper paste there SYSTEM DOWN and one more paper say TMpoint is not open on 27th and 28th Nov 2009 due to the holiday. The stupid customer support didnt even inform me. So saturday i wasted petrol and time . So with their excellent management i think we will reach 10mbps in 5 to 6 years time or never.

Streamyx really so useless ppl want to give them more money also so troublesome. I am gonna file a report to MCMC and direct to streamyx.

Whats the email for me to create a complain direct to streamyx?

Why bother to upgrade even if it's only RM10 more for 4mbps?

I can surf no shit and suffer dialup speeds all the time.
Almost constant dropouts with downloads from China servers and can't stream almost anything from Taiwan and Japan. Don't forget that it's almost impossible to maintain acceptable ping times with Asian gaming servers.

What's the line good for anyway?

Suckmix suck till the max.

Even Philippines have better connection to Japan and Taiwan seriously.
You can easily launch an online radio from Manila to Taiwan/Japan with ease.

My streamyx line is very stable i get 1mbps most of the time and gaming no lag thats why i considering to upgrade but upgrade procedure is like crap.

What a rant. Don't you already know everything is within working hours? They don't force you to come. If you really want it, take a leave or something. And i dont see this related to streamyx problem.

CS cannot help you with the upgrade..Either u personally go to TM Point, Self Upgrade or by using agent..
BTW, download 100mbps need 10 hours?? That too much time to wait lor...

I am currently on RM77 1MB package. So far the speed has been reliable (with the exception that for the past 2 weeks my Streamyx was down due to bad wiring).

Usually I will be getting around 1.5MB down and 400kb up in Speedtest.net :

Not worth the extra $$$ to go for 2MB where in actual fact we are not sure Tmnet network can cater for sudden increase of bandwidth consumption with this upgrade promo. I would just wait and see.
