Soony: No, step up rings and bigger filters reduce vignetting! Of course, ultra-wide angle lenses are already using 77mm and 82mm filters.

Cos I would love to get UWA in the future , thats why I wanted to get a step up to 77mm for my cz1680.
But I was thinking , whether when I put the step up ring and CPL , would the hood still be able to screw on.

finejave, on my personal preferences, (other may think otherwise)

RPP output - old film photo color.
IDC output - digital color.

i prefer the digital feel of it, but the color is a little too warm, judging from the green ball (the orangey spoiled it.)

Added on December 2, 2009, 7:30 pmsoony, u have to sacrifice the hood if u plan to get step-up rings. usually step up ring is for people who budget to use CPL/ND on diff filter size.

if it was me, i plan properly, because, not all lens, given shooting situation, will need CPL or ND.

so, plan properly, which lens u REALLY REALLY will NEED in the future (not buy for fun to try for fun,...) then grab a CPL that making sure that lens, will follow u, and shoot most of the photo (like walkaround lens).

and, when u attacH* CPL, you Dont use Hood, coz u need to turn the CPL< with hood, u cant turn the cpl. LOL.

*edit: *#%^@ i always type attack instead of attacH* (u see, i type attack again *#^%&@)

Yes , the cz1680 will follow me for a very very long time already , but planning to get UWA in the near future , if both can share the same filter , I ll save a big bang =)
What you say is quite correct ..

Thanks a lot..

buy the filter for the biggest size lens..and use step up ring for the smaller diameter lenses lo...so that both can share the same filter =)

but at 16mm, i am not sure the step will avoid vignetting or not. 16 is pretty wide.

lwliam: You can get step rings at DigitalsMania or Studio Zaloon in Pudu Plaza, or Digicolor in Mutiara Complex Jalan Ipoh.

I can teach you how to work the wireless ratio TTL thing on your A700 + F58!

Soony: No, step up rings and bigger filters reduce vignetting! Of course, ultra-wide angle lenses are already using 77mm and 82mm filters.

finejava: See which you like:

Both ACR and Sony IDC aren't so recommended among the Dyxum crowd. ACR is noisier. For Macs I hear Raw Photo Processor is pretty good. DxO Optics Pro 6 is awesome but the Mac version is only up to 5 (interface changed). For lower ISOs I prefer the control of RawTherapee but that's Windows/Linux only.
