QUOTE(neo_lam @ Dec 1 2009, 09:45 PM) guys...wanna buy a CPL....got 2 choice in my mind... Im currently using the B+W UV , havent really tested it out , but reading from the reviews , its just plain awesome =)Hoya Pro 1 Digital Circular Polarizing CPL and B+W 62mm Circular Polarizer (Slim) Multi-Resistant Coated (MRC) Glass Filter..... which one better?? NO vignette at all for my cal 1680 =) Thought of getting CPL in the near future, would consider either Hoya HD , or the B+W CPL . There are two types of CPL in B+W though.. haha. If can just go for the CPL Kaesemann.. LOL |

wouldnt step up rings plus bigger filter gives vignette?
I mean like wide/ultra wide angle lenses.. Assuming I wanna step up 62 -> 77mm then plus a slim B+W |

QUOTE(albnok @ Dec 2 2009, 06:01 PM) Soony: No, step up rings and bigger filters reduce vignetting! Of course, ultra-wide angle lenses are already using 77mm and 82mm filters. But I was thinking , whether when I put the step up ring and CPL , would the hood still be able to screw on. |

QUOTE(ieR @ Dec 2 2009, 07:25 PM) if it was me, i plan properly, because, not all lens, given shooting situation, will need CPL or ND. so, plan properly, which lens u REALLY REALLY will NEED in the future (not buy for fun to try for fun,...) then grab a CPL that making sure that lens, will follow u, and shoot most of the photo (like walkaround lens). and, when u attacH* CPL, you Dont use Hood, coz u need to turn the CPL< with hood, u cant turn the cpl. LOL. *edit: *#%^@ i always type attack instead of attacH* (u see, i type attack again *#^%&@) What you say is quite correct .. Thanks a lot.. |

Is it me or is there grains on the lens itself, what ISO settings are you using? Besides that , it looks okay to me =)
What filter are you using for you 16105? |

QUOTE(albnok @ Dec 3 2009, 02:07 AM) Soony: No, the hood will not fit. Do not bother buying a CPL for an ultra-wide angle lens. You will never be able to tune the CPL evenly across the frame. I mean like normally people use CPL for landscapes right? I personally never really tried CPL before, only in shops. Thats all . Anyone here loves to play with CPL? |

QUOTE(finejava @ Dec 4 2009, 12:41 PM) lwliam: cz16-80 can't use any filter, will cause vignetting. I've got pro1d CPL filter, also will cause vignetting. Anyway, for any CZ lens best to use without any filter. Putting a filter in front of the lens will lower down the quality of the pic unless ur using cz filter as well. Im using B+W XS-PRO for my CZ1680 and perfecto. No vignette =) haha.. And the quality of the filter is superb.. |

QUOTE(finejava @ Dec 4 2009, 05:08 PM) at 16mm? ehm... LoL.. yaya.. good filters doesnt only give you awesome qualities , it prevents the glass from pecah and doesnt reduce your image quality * though not visible *i'm using the cipok nicna 62mm CPL pro1d slim...i do get vignetting at 16mm but not at 17mm... looks like only the VERY expensive filter dun get vignetting at 16mm... Filters are like insurance , sort of a way to me though =) haha.. Well.. if you get vignette at 16mm , try stopping down a few stops , should be okay =) Added on December 5, 2009, 12:34 am QUOTE(tanjq87 @ Dec 5 2009, 12:03 AM) if you don't plan to sell SAL16105, i would advice you not to buy the tamron 1750, trust me, f2.8 is not gonna help much in low light if you don't use flash. The 30mm f1.4 isnt really sharp right? Never really had the chance to try it out but read that the 50mm f1.4 is way better for the bang of bucks rather than the 30mm.. which is quite disappointing.if i were you, i may consider getting sigma 30mm 1.4 How much is this lens going at the moment? QUOTE(lwliam @ Dec 5 2009, 03:49 AM) Nono , What I meant is reducing the F number.Of course , zooming in also reduces the vignette. QUOTE(albnok @ Dec 5 2009, 05:29 AM) 0168257061: Some shop I know sells loads of Carl Zeiss T* MC protector filters to Nikon and Canon users. I have Zeiss, Hoya Pro1D and B+W filters and I can tell you that the Zeiss filters are every bit just as good, minus the scratch-proof claim that the B+W and Hoya HD filters have. Really? Havent really tried the 30mm F1.4. Been tempted to get a low light lens , but reading all the reviews puts me off.Soony: The Sigma 30mm F1.4 is sharp. I know I know we shouldnt trust on reviews but should try it ourself, just that I dont have anyone who owns that lens =.= Summore cant try it in shops , have to pre-order summore =.= And I asked in penang road the salesman there , they said its terrible compared to 50mm f1.4 sony. damn =.= |

QUOTE(ieR @ Dec 5 2009, 09:10 AM) when the review says bad, mostly it was compare to a better lens, hence, there Are Another Better Lens to worth over that lens. when u get seriously good review, mean, it is on it's own top class with no much to compare. looking around, i think there are few more better choices of lens to fit ur sytle. When they do review right , they hardly compare with other lenses.. They go witht he MTF chart and so on.So I dont think reviews are bias. Center sharpness is awesome wide open , the only part is extreme corners, though not much lens suceed in delivering 50mm F1.4 is awesome throughout the test. 50mm F1.4 isnt any high grade lens though. Well , it might just be me that I read the 30mm F1.4 from the ascept of Nikon, cos they dont even have 1 review for 30mm F1.4 sigma. They only had sony lenses for review and hardly any third parts on alpha mount. |

QUOTE(ieR @ Dec 5 2009, 09:37 AM) wasnt that the point? LoL.. Im also using A300 at the moment. There aren't any proper reviews on sony mount , maybe I just didnt dig hard enough =(50mm and 30mm are totally diff, from the element curves. of coz the 50mm will be sharp all over compare to a wider like 30mm or 20mm. dont matter the lens are super G or normal lens, a good lens will always get better judgements. nikon? aisks, when they do a review of "A" lens, the review doesnt apply to a "B" lens. u have to get (dig it) for a proper full review on the siggy. i dont really bother with F1.4 lens nowadays, because on my A300, (assume applies to A330 too) the AF sensor arent the best, thus i get inconsistent focus accuracy with F1.4 DoF (or sharpness). thus end up i rather shoot at F2.8 above, hence i choose a zoom F2.8 then F1.4 lens. Okay okay thanks for your point anyway. I alwix knew that 30mm would suit us non full frame users better. but ... haih. |

What I meant is the vivid , potrait , landscape and standard those stuff. I dont really like the A330 .. seems flimsy, cant even hold it tight -.- |
