but after using it..i think im more towards 135F1.8 + beercan combination now..70200G is a nice lens..i can tahan the weight but it doesnt seem to give me the DoF/bokeh i want...maybe when there is a chance..i should get my hands on 135mm b4 i decide anything =D

yeap... dont waste ur money on 70200G... beercan does just fine... also like the 135MM as well..

either one will do... too many lenses will end up in dry cabinet most of the time... for wedding, best with 24-70Z + 70200G/Beercan or 135Z combo...
but beercans are mostly heavily used, some might have scratches/fungus.. its ur luck.. but cheap though... got mine for 640 with shipping from ebay, and its optics are perfect and no fungus...

achew: I prefer the bokeh of the 70-200mm G, it's much more like the beercan's. I guess since you're used to Zeiss lenses and haven't had a proper classic Minolta you wouldn't know why. However for my work I need the F1.8 and lighter weight and size.

Dude... seriously torn between the 70300G and Tammy 70200 f2.8... need the range, but need the low light shooting capability... and seriously wish there's a 70-300 f2.8... tongue.gif sure would cost a bomb... biggrin.gif
I would get both if someone's willing to sponsor... tongue.gif but then, would agree with sig on that... rather than buy 70300G and Tammy 2.8, better I go for the 70200G... but main reason is to get what I would need with the money I have rite? so... still stuck here between 70300G and Tammy 2.8... borrowing tubik's Tammy 2.8 next week for a wedding... hopefully it works for me...

Added on December 8, 2009, 9:22 amAs for the 1680Z vs the 16105, I don't think it's a fair fight... tongue.gif somehow... love my 16105 for the range, but love the IQ of the 1680Z... and that's probably why the 1680Z used to be known as the "Cari Makan" lens in this thread... hehehe...

haha.... me and you in the same limbo...
i don't wanna give up the smaller size, lighter weight, focus limiter and 300mm focal of my 70~300 G but I'm shooting more indoor events recently and low light is sadly not it's best features.

self poison with Tamron 70~200 at Artistry event..

I think best to have all three, 24-70 and 70-200 to have for the range and flexibility and the 135 for creative candid and portraiture shots.

Wah! all with Tamron 70200? very nais indeed! somehow really wish it could be smaller and lighter... but 70300G is really tempting too... hmm... really wish can have both... but really can't see any point in getting both lenses... now really biased towards the Tamron 70200... just wish they'd make a 70-300 f2.8 version... or Sony making a 70300G f2.8... waaaaaaaaaaa.....

always Imagined having a Sigma 12-24, 2470Z, 50 f1.4, 70200G, Tamron SP90 and the 135ZA. now that would really be covering all the lengths... Waaaa... Dreaminggggg... Dreaminggg.....

well, during a recent TT, a few us debated on this and the best compromise was getting the Tamron and adding a TC. Shoot indoor, use f2.8. Go Sepang, use the TC. The weight however is sweat.gif

Ya la... the weight's just the problem... if it wasn't that heavy, wouldn't mind adding the TC... but then... hehehe... btw, hokc, how much and where did you get your kenko extension tube? can AF?
