QUOTE(albnok @ Nov 26 2009, 11:01 AM)
Braynumb: Congratulations!

clivengu: The A700 and A900 have the same number of buttons on the top. I honestly don't use the top LCD of the A900.

jtcs87: The 'body cap' should be in the box.

Kul | Mo0: Tell me about it! That wideness of the beercan on FF is much appreciated because it can focus within a big table.

MechaHerc: It looks like you can.

Left-most compartment: 55-200mm and 18-70mm with back caps facing each other
Middle compartment: A200 + VG-B30AM + 50mm
Right-most compartment: Ultra-wide angle

The flash will fit on your belt (F42 leather pouch has to be modified at a cobbler.)

No need bring blower lah. There is a side pocket outside (not in picture) that can hold the battery and charger.

I think I will have to pop my Kingston 32GB in different Alphas to see which ones can read it.

tanjq87: Maybe look for the Kingston 32GB 133x CF from JL Supercom Enterprise in Digital Mall PJ? That's where I got mine and it has not given me any problems at all. (Am not sure if you've met Jeffrey the owner, he has too many A-mount lenses!)

achew: If the filter is bigger then it's usually called a step-up ring.

lwliam: Cute! Wow I can see the nails!

ur 32GB Kingston passed on my A900... smile.gif

just text a shop in jb..they quote me 4850rm for 135mm..but no stock..need to order.. =.=

beercan i think i'll put it on hold for the moment.. =p
*
either one will do... too many lenses will end up in dry cabinet most of the time... for wedding, best with 24-70Z + 70200G/Beercan or 135Z combo...
but beercans are mostly heavily used, some might have scratches/fungus.. its ur luck.. but cheap though... got mine for 640 with shipping from ebay, and its optics are perfect and no fungus...

I think best to have all three, 24-70 and 70-200 to have for the range and flexibility and the 135 for creative candid and portraiture shots.

dude, i'm really sorry... but you're comparing a hyperzoom and a telephoto...dun la... beercan's got constant f4 wei... I actually think the beercan is underrated...
*
seems so... but at 210mm, its abit soft, so just pull back abit and dont hit the max 210mm...

>_< is 42AM actually putted wrong XD

and yea .... I did check the sample picture of A550 ... but it seems the noise control were only good in RAW while many people comment the color brightness and noise control on shadow wasn't react so good likewise HDR functionally was quite limited so I need to think twice whether it's worth to upgrade or not .... >_< or perhaps go foward for A700 biggrin.gif

just get A850/A900 + CZ or G lens... ultimate combination..

the A550 review on DpReview is kind of sad...

i am extremely sure the image detail quality will improve tremendously with CZ lenses...

currently the CZ & built in stabilization is Sony's advantage in the market.. i have used 2470Z with A350 and it blew away the canon 50D quality... also with my 2470Z + A900, it will kill 5DMKII any time of the day...

met a canon photog a few weeks back, even he was amazed with the A900 and CZ lenses... he is using 5DMKII.. he even thinking of jumping, but cant afford to let go all his investments in C junks...

last month, met a Nikon photog (old timer), he was damn impressed as well, and told me, many of his Canon photog buddies r jumping to Sony coz of the CZ..

DoF too shallow..
*
if shooting without flash, u can use bigger aperture, but be closer to ur subject and shortest focal length... example if using 1750 F2.8, can try shooting at 17mm @ F4 and 50mm @ F4... u will see the difference..

so, to improve DOF, use shorter focal length (but go closer to subject) & smaller aperture

Is the A550 body Made in Japan or Made in Thailand ?
*
SPEM (Sony Precision Engineering Malaysia) makes parts for the A550... but this plant will close down soon (mid 2010).

All ALPHAs are planned to be manufactured in Sony Technology Thailand, and Sony HQ target is to make Bangkok as Alpha City. Its already started manufacturing A2xx/3xx cameras...
