have you let Saurik store your ECID and signed it with Apple prior to the cut off date? if no, then don't bother cause you won't be able to restore to 3.1.2

I did that too, now when I go to cydia it displays - This Device has SHSHs on file for OS 3.1.2

yes, lucky you...with the SHSH on cydia. you can restore back to 3.1.2

but i'm not sure if you already upgraded to 3.1.3, can you still click shift+restore to choose the 3.1.2 firmware. maybe those who tried can let us know.

I understand now. I'm curious to the same thing, but as of now there's no real reason to update to 3.1.3 so I'll stay there for awhile yet. I can't imagine iPhone life without SBSEttings and SMSHelper and ActionMenu.

For 3GS, once you update to 3.1.3, you can't downgrade back to 3.1.2. I tried it before.
So if you use Ultrasn0w or BlackRa1n, it better to stay away from 3.1.3

meaning once u update to 3.1.3, you can't click Shift+Restore right? thats what i heard as well.

From the previous post, the method to remove the :"ikee" is by JB your phone.
This virus spread by my iPhone 2G --> direct transfer backup to 3Gs and i got it from there without JB my 3GS.

Any ways that without JB my 3Gs am able to remove the "iKee" virus?

Anyway to bypass JB-ing my 3Gs wish to play with original firmware been jaibraeking since V1.1 onwards.
Well i just try to check my bootrom whether is it suitable to JB but i just tried under DFU mode i cant see any iboot information (using Mac) with the procedure where davidgary73 posted up.

Will this help if my unit from 88002 that able to JB under PwnageTool_3.1.4?

I have never used the PwnageTool_3.1.4 but only used Blackra1n to JB my 3GS (officially unlocked from maxis).
The risk you might be taking if you have a new bootroom is everytime you reboot, you might get the iTunes and USB icon and need to run Blackra1n it again (without restoring etc).

Are your 3GS from Maxis? and are you a Maxis user? Why don't upgrade to 3.1.3. It will be safe (since you don't want to JB or unlock).

Well if 3.1.3 can solve my "ikee" virus im glad to try but if i flash to 3.1.3 n the "Rick Astley" is still there, guess is a waste to upgrade to 3.1.3 n no way i can downgrade to 3.1.2 and perform JB.

In this case, i might try some luck on upgrading to 3.1.3 though....hope the virus will be gone

Any new when 3.1.3 able to JB in near future?

p/s: really miss Lockdown app that can protect all the applications in my phone with JB....

Problem is everytime reboot, the Have To Plug It Into Computer For Itunes logo appear. Everytime had to blackra1n only able to reach homescreen. What happen ya? or is a known problem?

well your friend is using the new bootroom..so if he jailbreak the phone..tell him not to reboot,restart,and off the phone...if not you need make ra1n everytime...

as far as i know, iPhone from Singapore and Malaysia is officially unlock. no matter u use if on Digi or Maxis or Singtel, it still will work. Regarding JB, I wouldn't JB my iPhone now, Apple has declare that if you JB your phone, your warranty will be void. I know that most of you will say i am Bullshitting. Believe it or not, its up to you. At this point of time, there is no way that Apple can detect if your phone has been JB before. But in the future, they will.
