noob question here, i just bought the CD key yesterday and when register they ask the payment method, I just cancel it. I didnt register anything whether Pay pal, credit card or prepaid.

I can still play WOW. But will there be a problem when I want to pay the monthly fees. I plan to used prepaid.

Pls share your thought.

Once your subscription time is up, you will need to reactivate your subscription. Prepaid card is good in that it is a fixed 60 day play time; at the end of 60 days, your account is temporarily suspended until you reload your account again.

Credit card is cheaper but is recurring unless you plan to cancel your subscription.

In your case, you will need to select a subscription method later anyway.

YES, you will be banned if you activated through the 10-day trial from the website.
It would be wise to re-create another account when you buy your retail.

y they want to ban us if we activated throught the 10-day trial?

Never play online game before, would like to take a try, perhaps begin with WoW. I just wonder why so many people be attracted by the virtual WoW. I can never know the answer unless I involved myself into the world as well laugh.gif

WoW newbie here. Any recommendation for me? Frankly, I have no ideas on what is this all about, but I want to have a try in my live, make no regret rclxm9.gif

First time I've seen someone look for Jas. Not sure whether that is a good idea or not.

Jubei'thos is the name of the server.

With TBC : You have access to 2 new races - Blood Elf (BE)on Horde, Draenei on Alliance.

Without TBC : You don't have access to those races and you cannot enter their starting area either.

My take : Get TBC. I like the BE and Draenei starting areas. Unless you're hoping for the prices to go down. May only go down when WoTLK is out (if it's like the time when TBC came out).

but then, basically, it won't affect the gameplay, right?
just 2 new races, and that's about it?

Stuck at level 60. You won't gain any experience from the quests in Azeroth once you reach 60. Level cap is 70.

OK, just remember, be polite to others and they will be polite in turn.

Enjoy the game and in moderation!

I will share my story with you guys. It was quite a funny one with WoW.

Like some of you guys, i decided to try out the game with a 10-day trial. Downloaded the game and registered an account. When i was starting i choose a Human Warrior (Forgot which server, i think it is Caelsoemthing). I managed to see the opening cutscene for Human and then the game crashed. So i tried a few time to reconnect but, the game refuse to reconnect. After an hour retrying, i gave up and went to sleep.

The next day i tried again somemore, and to my surprise i was greeted with the "Your account has been locked" message. Check my email and notice i got an email from Blizzard informing me my 10-day trial account was banned (No reason given). So i mailed them back quite sarcastically, stating i registered a 10-day to try out the game before actually deciding if purchasing WoW was a good idea (As all good old Suckmyx users will know our connection for online games tend to go from ok to ultra suck faster than you can blink and for no apparent reason!). So given in a state of disbelief and annoyed, i wrote and email reply. The content of the email i wrote was quite sarcastic with a closing signature like this (The guy who got banned without being able to play the game).

Logged off, and went to play some other games. 2 or 3 days have passed and i notice i have an email from Blizzard again. To my surprise, the sarcastic email i sent was replied and the reply i got was actually a very polite email, informing me that my account was unblocked and i can again log in using the said account. They apologized for the incident, but still there was no reason given why my account was locked. Still the fact that they replied in a politely manner after the email i sent was a clear sign that the GM/Support staff actually cared and took the grouses of the customer into consideration. Unlike some other MMORPG games i have played, their reply would have been "Go die and stop bothering us or something along the lines, but basically meant the same thing".

So, after my 10-day i went and bought myself a WoW Battlechest! It has been fun for the 3 weeks i have been playing so far. The latency with Suckmyx is actually pretty good. I even managed to have a green (270+ ms!) bar once, most of the time it is yellow (320ms - 550ms). Red only during peak (600+ms - 10kms (Yes... it is that bad. Got that once only)).

All in all, i am happy with WoW as it is now. I doubt i will have the time to play raid/instances as i have very little gaming time everyday (2 to 3 hours a day max). smile.gif

O.O They must have change the policy since awhile back. Any 10-day trial download from their website usually resulted in a banned account because they only used to entertain ppl from 4 countries and Malaysia wasn't in there. Singapore, Australia, US and NZ I think.

But think there was also a catch that the 10-day trial key from the gameboxes, Recruit-A-Fried and from other game sites, that it may be possible to bypass the 10-day-official-site-key-download.

As for your latency, that's normal. Worst once u get into Outlands. smile.gif
