Generally, what I do is just read tips from wowinsider.com and a few WoW blogs for new links, etc.

WoW is a game that a player has to spend a lot of time to read, read, read, read and more reading.

It's also a place where a lot of discussion takes place. So, things will get very feisty indeed. Taunts and insults are traded a lot as well. smile.gif Not always accepted of course but not easy to control either.

I read an article in a mag before about WoW and how the majority of the players are obsessed by the numbers; gold, dps, reputations. I couldn't agree more with that. And after getting a new PC and turning the visual effects up, it was like a new world. So much eye-candy. And WoW is a big world to immerse yourself in if you choose to enjoy the game for what it offers you at face value. But once you start trading all of the eye-candy for the numbers, you lose the enjoyment and start chasing numbers. Then it becomes an obsession.

My opinion anyway. I still like taking the time going to Wetlands to see the big glowing moon cos you'll never see that in KL biggrin.gif

Odinn,
Thanks a lot for the guide Beast Lore is part of Beast Mastery talent? I'm in the office now so no time to read up on this yet.

Blizz is one of the few MMO sites with updated fansite links or forums links. Have a read. It will probably answer a lot of the questions that you're currently asking.

Only problem is finding the time to read. >.<

guys, i need some help... i m new and currently trying the 10 days trial!

kinda confused! i gotten the WoW normal 10 days trial.. then only i noticed got 10 days trial TBC as well..

Regardless to the that, i just wanted to know if i want to start playing WoW wat do i need?? TBC runs on itself and Normal WoW by itself?
As i downloaded the client and patched it the normal WoW already.

So the cheapest and fastest way to start? buying BattleChest?

World of Warcraft - stand-alone game, doesn't require TBC but your gameplay is limited in terms of level (capped at 60 only), race availability and gear.

TBC - expansion, requires WoW to play, provides increased level cap (to 70), race, area and gear.

Summary: get WoW first, then get TBC. Hope this helps ya and welcome to the game biggrin.gif

The battlechest also comes with some guides but in all honesty, you probably wouldn't refer to them ever again. But it's a way to get the GameKey to get your WoW Account registered. Plus, having the discs in case you ever had to reformat your harddisk.

Although I do notice that the Battlechest are DVD versions. Not sure about the separate box versions : used to be CD-ROM versions.

But can i do like, get WoW 1st, level up to 60 then only get TBC? it wont affect my gaming experience while in WoW rite?
if can, then all i need to do is get a starter pack which alot me to play 30 days 1st? or i need to get starter pack + 60day time card in order to play?

yeah.. just get the starter pack first..
for the prepaid.. if you have credit card or paypal..
you can just subscribe to WoW in your account..
if you don't have any CC.. then you have to buy the prepaid since it will ask for payment method when you are creating your account..
later on get the TBC.. (if you want).. tongue.gif

Some things will be limited :

-You cannot play Dranei or Blood Elf but you can see them.
-You cannot goto the Dranei or Blood Elf starting area at all.
-You cannot pick up Jewelcrafting as a profession.
-You cannot go to Outlands.

What you can do :
-Equip weapons that are BoE even if they come from Outlands.

What I'm not sure :
-Play Eye of the Storm.
-Level past 60 with leftover quests from Silithus. I think you can but not sure.

Starter pack comes with 1 month free gameplay. After that, you can buy the 60day time card. But you would still need a credit card to register, methinks.

Credit card is just for registering your account. You register with a credit card, then change your payment method using timecards.

noob question here, i just bought the CD key yesterday and when register they ask the payment method, I just cancel it. I didnt register anything whether Pay pal, credit card or prepaid.

I can still play WOW. But will there be a problem when I want to pay the monthly fees. I plan to used prepaid.

Pls share your thought.
