Maybe they cant score hat tricks in every game but they will certainly add a new dimension to our way of playing.

Let's take an example. The Fulham players said, once Torres went off, they were no longer worried and went all the way for attacking to get the 3 points. This only indicate one thing, they are not scared of players like Lucas,Kuyt and others.

The fact that they think No one else in our team poses the threat to them, allow them to attack us without fear of conceding.

You can have the best centerbacks at the back but if your players failed to make the opponents worry about conceding, you are already losing the game before the game starts.

What we need now is a matchwinner who can make the opponents worry despite the absence of Gerrard and Torres. Benny is one of them but the fact that he played too much game in a row caused him to have a hamstring injury. We need another player who can pose a threat to the opponent because it helps in minimizing their time to attack, decreasing chances of conceding, increasing chances of winning the match simultaneously.

so are u trying to say that LFC players all fear fulham?
a team full of internationals are afraid of fulham?
u will be a very bad sports psychologist / team motivator, thats for sure tongue.gif

but you cant expect only the central defenders to clear the ball from set-pieces. You cant expect them to be at the right place at the right time. Everyone needs to communicate and clear the ball.
Thats why the suggestion of Gerrard and Aquilani in midfield. Theres no way you cant count on them to deliver that killer pass.

btw, yea they cant, but they being the tallest players in a team full of midgets should at least take charge more.
even chelsea was having trouble with set-pieces, the last straw coming when they lost to villa 2-1.
and what does ancelotti do? he drops bosingwa for ivanovic and they havent conceded a single goal in the league since.
chelsea of cos have other players who are strong in the air, but its all about getting rid of the weakest link.
our team of cos, damn...almost everyone is 5'8...aurelio, benny, lucas, insua, and of cos masch at 5'7.
the only guys that are taller than 6'0 is agger.
and the other six footers being gerrard, torres, johnson...so there goes whatever air dominance we have.

Solstice meant that Fulham didn't feared anyone except Torres.

That was the case.

No.You get me wrong. What I'm trying to say is, They DO NOT FEAR us instead of WE FEAR THEM.It's 2 different matters.

Because they were no longer worry about our attacking options upfront, they were so free to roam around, creating more chances and thus more goals were scored.

IF we have someone who can change the game and Fulham wary of that particular player, they will have less time attacking and we wont concede goal easily.

Speaking of the fear factor, Riera did say that it has something to do with "mental" of the players. Perhaps, they did scare of Fulham players after a bad run of results. Not surprising if it really happens.

Let me just open the question to everyone not solely on sols.
Yes.
And thank <insert name here> for changing fulham's mentality. We didnt need the sports psychologist to change their mentality.

Simply put, after taking Torres, you could see our players had trouble facing bombardment after bombardment from Fulham.
So in a way, we fear them not fearing us. icon_rolleyes.gif laugh.gif

Purely change personnel also cannot change the game, if the manager plays the wrong system.

Typical example would be RM, got the world best player but lose to second tier team as well.

Playing 2 DM system at home facing lower league team is not a good strategy at all.

You need lot of movement off the ball, so that player create space for themselves to score goal, cannot always stay stagnant and waiting for the ball or when pass around time.

Set aside the dive issue, among the striker if excluded Torres, Ngog seems is the one more promising one, much better than Babel, Voronin at least until their performance recently.

Referees are the men in charge, but those old and fat retiree men can easily be fooled.. and some of them with so many years of experiences, still don't know the rules of football. Yet, they demand 'RESPECT'.

It's time now to practice Video Replay...technology should be introduced to help officials, to minimized their mistake.

Bosingwa wasn't dropped. He's currently injured with a knee injury. Height isn't everything, but yes it does matters..we could have get mertesacker(6 ft 6') if we wanted the tallest player on the pitch).

I don't need we need a new cb, Skrtel is just off-form and we have agger who is doing quite great at the moment. Kyr needs more time. The problem comes from the whole team, not from the defence only.

Dossena edging closer to Reds exit

Andrea Dossena appears to be edging closer to a move to Napoli after his agent suggested that Liverpool should sell in January.

The Italy defender was close to a switch to Stadio San Paolo in the summer, but the deal broke down amidst suggestions that personal terms could not be agreed.

Dossena's representative, Federico Pastorello, claims wages were not the only stumbling block and that Liverpool did not want to take a substantial financial loss.

The Reds paid Udinese £7million for the left-back in July 2008 and are thought to be keen to regain as much of that fee as possible.

But, with former Treviso player Dossena failing to earn a place in Rafa Benitez's first team, Pastorello believes it is only fair to sell.

Pastorello told Radio Kiss Kiss: "The negotiations in August were real, but the problem was not only the salary.

"Liverpool, in fact, didn't give us the green light to deal with Napoli. The two clubs were not finally agreed.

"What about January? He has played less this year and it is clear that Liverpool have to move him. If Napoli want Dossena, they know how."

Napoli sports director Riccardo Bigon told Radio Marte on Tuesday: "I like Andrea Dossena since he played in Treviso."

He added: "It's early to say names and we do not yet have a problem on the left side thanks to (Jesus) Datolo and (Salvatore) Aronica."
