I'd recommend something cheaper like Edifier S330D for RM400+ if you don't have the space.

better sound quality + got lots of functions compared to x540

and also hcs5640 got an 8" subwoofer compared to x540 5.25" subwoofer

hcs5640 have radio/sd card reader/usb card reader/virtual extended 2.1 to 5.1 sound for music while x540 only provides 5.1 sound

I'd choose Edifier R2000T while some of my friends choose Logitech Z-2300

you'll regret the bass created by HCS2330 and M3300SF if you are a formal user of Altec Lansing VS4121
but of course both models will provide tighter bass than VS4121

that vs4121 are always bad sounding
it's just that the bass is loud only
plus the downfiring is annoying and you need to put it on a good place then it'll sound good

PS: that's why I sometimes don't like down-firing speakers. they are a headache as you need to combine them correctly with the surface

it's easier to use a down-firing subwoofer than a down-firing midrange speaker icon_rolleyes.gif
